These bad boys came in yesterday
They look even better in person. The leather is quite stiff and they're still squeaking a bit as I break them in.
I'm so glad I stepped up my work shoe game. I just feel a different person when I put these on. I'm also glad I got out of that American mindset of being too casual/comfortable at work.
The black wholecuts are really subtle but the color is very rich. The cognac brown is also a beauty.
I'm a very firm believer in the notion that your shoes finish off your outfit. You can have a good suit but if the shoes are dusty/not up to the occasion then it's for nothing.
I've had these for a month now and they've broken in very well. Even better is that they keep their shape well, especially as I have a wider foot. I like the soft toe box and the narrow shape. it's a very modern European cut that isn't too gaudy.
I also just gave them their first round of polishing as well. The polishing took the squeak out of the black pair.
Probably one of the best investments I've made in a very long time. Definitely recommend Meermin for well made and stylish shoes in the $200-$350 range. I'd say go for the Elton last. Nice elongated shape that's more modern that what you'd find with say Allen Edmonds.
