That’s what I’m thinking. I’ll use the savings and get solar panels through Tesla as well
On them solar panels I’d look around. I’ve only saw a few vids on YouTube about it but heard you may be paying for the name instead of the actual solar panels. I’d do more research on that if I was you from the few vids I saw but I’m no expert on that topic. Unless you just want a newer car and or the newer autopilot there really isn’t much reason to get a 2018/19 over a 2016 outside of maybe unlimited charging but that’s not worth that price difference imo.

Yeah, just watched a crazy video of those. Those version 3 panels look well worth it. I actually need this more than i need a tesla.

Once again I'll urge you to skip the 2016 and get a 2019 model 3, throw the savings at the solar roof + powerwall

Does your dad enjoy his car? Does he have any glaring regrets or issues?
He loves it. He’s had one since they first came out. He got the refreshed one in 2018 switching from a 2013. The only complaint was time to fix things compared to a normal car dealer. He had a small fender issue that took like a month and half because they were taking their time getting the part. That could be dealer related but I’ve saw similar instances from others I know with a Tesla so I figure there is some truth to it. Other than that his issues have been pretty normal. The sunroof and drive unit needed fixing pretty early on in the first one but outside of that nothing major.

I want the model X but couldn't see myself dishing 1500 a month, even though I can.
