Just watched it.

Im going to be generous and give this a 1/10.

Pros:It got a couple smirks out of me but thats about it. Movie was very dated, most jokes were poorly written and fell flat.

Cons:im 90 minutes closer to death and can add watching down periscope to my regrets in life.

So yeah um comedies tend to not really age too well and this one is no exception. I can't tell if it was generally bad or if the age just compounded it but yeah it was kind of a chore getting through this one. Not all is bad though I thought some parts in the beginning when you were introduced to all the different personalities was charming to a degree.

When shyt got kind of semi serious this movie kinda went to shyt, mostly cause the whole thing felt spoofish to me. I never really fked with any of those serious submarine movies(Red October, etc) so if it was a spoof type movie it went over my head a little bit.

Pros:

First 10-15 minutes had some sort of charm
Lauren Holly :banderas: when they had that bytch put on the tight suit :banderas:

Cons:

Don't think I laughed a single time
The main villain/antagonist fkin sucked
So many cameos from F list bum ass cac comedians that I've seen in countless other movies.

This is one of those movies that was terrible, but not terrible by design. They really thought this terrible shyt would do well.

 You dont want a long, detailed review from me pleighboi :birdman:

:pachaha: But in all seriousness its a goofy comedy I dont think you can expect well thought out reviews or to illicit much discussion regardless if the person enjoyed it.

where they cross-over and clap boards
Just got done watching.... it wasn't that bad of a movie. I don't think I laughed once and seemed to be a quick movie, only 90 mins. Why in almost every movie Duane Martin is in he has a basketball background :russ:

There were a lot of comedians in it. I even saw Spence from Kings of Queens had a line or 2.

My man tied a chicken to his shoulder pretending it was a parrot :mjlol:

Wow, this film was... odd. The first half seemed like a screwball spoof comedy while the second turned into a matinee adventure. I dunno, I definitely enjoyed the second half more, the comedy was waaaay too broad and light-touch IMHO. When the characters weren't making jokes I began to enjoy spending screen time with them.

I think they should have made a choice with the tone at the beginning to either make a goofy joke a minute spoof like Airplane with the volume turned up, or committed more to a proper caper with story and characters like Kelly's Heroes or It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World.

It also would have helped if this film had been made anytime before 1978 with Ernest Borgnine in the lead.

Good: The production, Harry Dean Stanton (on GP), William H. Macy, Harland Williams and Rob Schneider

Bad: Script, score, story

Worse: Villiage People tie-in music video over the end credits

4/10

My inner Navy brat turned Navy sailor liked this movie when it came out. I remember nitpicking the smallest things like "Naval Station Norfolk ain't have no damn forests and mountains and shyt?!:upsetfavre:". Damn liars....

It's not garbage, but it's far from the best flick I've seen.
