Title: Yoooo Aaliyah visited my school
Date: 24/07/1996
It was a non-uniformed day in school and it's the last day of school for the summer holidays. My music teacher called Mr. Giles mentioned to all the students during week that Aaliyah was coming to visit, literally half the school went home as they weren't convinced, there was probably 13 of us that stayed behind.
To cut the long story short we waited at the main assembly and there Aaliyah walks in with her mom, with some tall light skin dude(I think her cousin or brother) and some other guys. It turns out she is promoting her upcoming album in the UK, anyway she sang beautifully an acapella for a song that is supposedly going to be on her album If I recall she referenced it as "Millions" or something, she then signed autographs and did a Q&A session,some girl from two years(Grades) below me asked her if she married R Kelly, Aaliyah giggled an said "Im so sorry darling but I can't talk about that, but your so beautiful" HAHA

At the end of her visit, all of us rushed to the stage where she was sitting we took a group photo and I made sure to sit next to her and man did she smell like heaven, I then asked if I could get an individual photo which she obliged she stroked my hair and gave me a lil hug which made me blush and she asked for my name which she remembered when she had to say her goodbye's to me and my colleagues. She's truly cool It felt like she was one of us, I expected her to be different as she's famous.

Wow what a day, I have no regrets stealing my dads NIKON ZOOM 700, had a not done that everything that happened today would only be a memory.

Aaliyah isn't worthy of being pictured at all. you could at least make a case for sneaking a pic in if this was '97......I mean, she was still a curtain-jerker in '97 too but I would play nice.
but '96??? she was just alright. that album didn't take off until "one in a million" the single hit at the very end of the year.

of course you knew people with the Aaliyah album. you were a kid and Aaliyah was for the kids......….and even in the youth lane, she was no title contender.

im not downplaying anything. I just don't like retrospective placements that weren't there in real-time.. same with all these mentions of outkast.
