If things calm down they will. But the city can't make lunch ladies go across neighborhoods during riots or looting.
I'm not going to work today, why would I want my Aunt going to Inglewood to feed other peoples children while those same people still looting and fighting.

People downtown aren't' 'going into offices today, but want to expect hundreds of women to go to work in the hoods right now.

My pops used to stay in Wicker in the 70s and he always talks about how much it has changed.

Lincoln Park used to be the Puerto Rican hood. Ghetto as hell too. Whites came in and gentrified, and pushed them west to Bucktown and Wicker. Whites then started to move west and essentially pushed them to Humboldt Park and Logan. Now whites are moving further west into "Wicker Park West" (east Humboldt Park) and now Puerto Ricans are being pushed south into Garfield Park or God knows where else.

its a long history in Chicago.

I was talking to a white dude whose family owned property in Wicker Park since the 40's.
He said first it was mostly Ukrainian and Polish immigrants...
...black folks started moving in....
...white gangs and black gangs started fighting each other...
..then the Puerto Ricans started moving in, and of course the black and puerto rican gangs started fighting each other.

Its one big cycle all over the city.

Now you see Mexican and Chinese taking over neighborhoods like Bridgeport.
Mexicans are actually setting up shop all over...
...Cicero/Berwyn, Englewood, Harvey, etc...

Black folks were already leaving Chicago for the south...this is just going to speed it up.

Now is the time to publicly shame & push those who are not down for the community OUT. It was already gonna be rough with Covid but the next few months/years will be crucial . We gotta not only get these politicians to push laws/programs in our favor but also build the community back up.

If you not down family or not, black or not you need to be dragged.

Not sure how other posters feel but we should strongly consider a Coli Community group . Obviously I’m down for the Chicago region, it’s def enough of us.

Other posters can put together a NY,ATL,Cali,DC etc regions .

As much as we talk about what change we want or need it’s amazing we don’t already have this .

Just checked out 119th and Marshfield. Whole strip mall boarded. Jewels, city sports, GameStop, DTLR, Old Navy, beauty store. shyt is cooked. That area is done. I would be shocked if any of them outside the jewels opens up. And the Jewels May close and tell nikkas to take they ass to Merionnette Park

How’s it looking going into the city ? I’m out south now & was gonna head out in about an hour

going back was cool. I was out on my bike cutting thru traffic from the exit off 95th/halstead to cal city and they turned me around at Sibley to go back to 130th and I had to take that to Torrence.

Most of the traffic going back to the city was because of that shyt but it wasn’t as bad as southbound past stony

I was listening to Laurence Holmes on the score and he was basically saying Lori fukked up big time. She cancelled CTA at 6 and put curfew at 9 which meant a lot of essential couldn't get home. Then they concentrated all the police downtown and near Northside while the south and West sides were decimated. So the systemic racism and allocation of resources continues.
