Having someone die off-screen (which can be for external reasons ex. Jason) ≠ gaping plot holes, whole plotlines discarded with no explanation, and developed character traits taking a whole °180 transformation when it suits the script
I'm talking to this chick currently and we were discussing what TV shows we like. Of course The Chi came up.
I started echoing some of the hilarious stuff already mentioned in this thread.
She was like "Do you watch The Chi?" I said "yeah"
Her: "Do you think Jake will hook up with Kevin's girl?"
Me: "Oh, you mean Nina Simone, Jr?"

Also brought up some of the inconsistencies and sloppy writing, such as Douda flipping from TV Dad to hardcore gangster at the drop of a hat, Emmitt/Tiffany being so poor despite their hustle....and running off the "Heart Attack OG" for unpaid rent, despite the fact that he had expansion plans just last season, Keisha's failed escape, and last but not least.....Ronnie's forced plight and him on the verge of receiving his inevitable "Man of the Year" Award.
She was dying laughing because it was all true.
