You already have some embarrassing takes on the Celtics/Cavs and the Kyrie trade documented in some of the offseason threads that I could have bumped. Let you off the hook because you owned up to being way off base if I'm not mistaken. Seems like you're back on your bullshyt though so you might not get the same courtesy again.

Your going to look like an idiot.

They made okay moves I guess. Added some depth but they still don't have a respected rim protector or another star that can get his like Kyrie..
Protecting the rim/paint could be a problem down the road, especially against a team like the Raptors in a series.
or another star that can get his like Kyrie. They needed a miracle to save their league worst defense and all the got was a small band-aid at best.
While they don't have another star like Kyrie, they have more than enough self-scorers and microwave players that can get theirs at will (Love, Hood and Clarkson) that will go a long way to making up the difference. The thing here is, if you have your best defender on LeBron, who's guarding 6' 8" Hood on the perimeter? Who's guarding Love down low or on the perimeter? Who's guarding Clarkson? Who's guarding Korver, Hill, Green? The Cavs now have A LOT of versatility on offense, as well as youth/athleticism to keep the heat turned up high, and by the law of averages will eventually expose a weak point in a team's defense - there's just far too much scoring talent not to.

Most of their issues on defense came down to effort (LeBron being the most guilty), and players who were either limited or over-the-hill in that area - IT, Rose, and Wade - those players have now gone. And LeBron and all the others there will only naturally give more effort on that end because of the moves made, and because they'll feed off the energy all the young guys bring to the team, even guys who were on the team like Cedi. Even if they won't be notably better, structurally, on defense, they'll be a whole lot better just because they'll have more youth, size and give more effort.

Hill's still a damn good defender too, so at least they'll have a better initial point of resistance in the PnR, as opposed to when IT was there.

I'm on record as absolutely loving the trade. It will be interesting to see how things go if the Cavs hit a rough patch before the playoffs though and if Lebron will have faith in the new additions. On the Zach Lowe podcast Windhurst was talking about how quick Lebron can lose faith in teammates and start freezing them out to a degree so that makes me interested in seeing if they hit any struggles. Also in the playoffs star power becomes way more important so I am curious to see who steps up on the Cavs since they don't have that second superstar. But overall I do think this makes the Cavs the favorites overall.

One other thing I'm interested in is if the Cavs can pick up a center in the buy out market.

I think that's the one thing missing from this roster. I know guys like Whiteside and Valanciunas tend to get played off the floor these days but in the playoffs when the game slows down I could see them posing a problem not having a true big. Embiid would be a real problem for this Cavs squad.

That said, the Cavs are likely to just small ball teams to death and 5 out with Lebron and 4 shooters and it won't even matter.
