an electric car has one moving part, the motor, whereas a gasoline-powered car has hundreds of moving parts. not only do electric cars require less workers to assemble them, they also require less mechanics to fix them. so the amount of jobs lost due to electric cars is actually greater than this article has suggested.
That is a wonderful assessment.

May I ask a follow up? How many lives will be lost because of fossil fuels?

We are so cavalier with this saying.

Let's see how the energy is when AI threatens your job, or better yet, when we get AI into politics and it starts affecting the cushy jobs in politics, law etc.
Technology is meant to improve humanity. Maybe we should start to wonder aloud if people hoarding money for a half milinia should be murdered?

“Yall crazy, these jobs get list and replaced with new ones.”
Keep that energy for the cats that say that shyt. Innovation has sped up as well as productivity. The world isnt suddenly goi NY to create new jobs because there are evolutions in old products. Those new products are being replaced with new building methods, and 10,000 people are suddenly going to get jobs doing maintenance on robots. Face it, the biggest innovations require less manpower and its going to accelerate in the first world.
Yep.

Instead of an assembly line full of workers, all they'll need is for a few workers to get certain machines started.

When I worked on the assembly line at Honda 15 years ago, I'd always think to myself "in a couple decades, the wont need all of these workers. Just machine/robot maintenance and quality control"
