...except they were in the clinch numerous times and even had Holly on the ground and tried to set up an armbar. None of her other opponents have really survived those situations.

Ronda had opportunities. She just couldn't capitalize on them.
Ronda never had a chance in this fight, she clinched and proceeded to get outworked by the better fighter. When she got Holm to the ground Holm immediately countered it, this fight was 100% all Holm from start to finish.

Ronda still getting all the pub even after getting annihilated :beli: All the talk is how will she come back, will she recover :camby:

I can't see what she could do differently in an immediate rematch, her striking isn't gonna miraculously get better between now and then. Sure, she could make it more competitive but I don't see the outcome being any different.

Holly shattered her mystique and defended well against Ronda's strengths. They might not want to but Ronda needs to fight someone else before they put her in against Holm again.
The whole div is cans except for meisha and holm. What other options are there? It's either a immediate rematch or long layoff

I hate loses like this... they always happen after awhile do to championship level ego and boredom.
This is like when Silva lost the first time from taunting.

Once you start going 10-0 decimating your weight class you start ignoring what got you there and thinkinh you can do whatever. "I'm gonna box the champion boxer, taunt, drop my hands, throw kicks with reckless abandon knowing that the a check will make it so I'm basically slamming my shin against a telephone pole. Stupid shyt.

Not saying Holly or Weidman could not have potentially beat Silva or Rousey, I just hate seeing people lose from being reckless bordering into foolish.

Ronda basically recycled the gameplan of Cat Zigano... after seeing how ridiculous it is up close.
:mindblown: This is why Nate/Nick Diaz always lose. They just walk foward in a straight line like its a schoolyard scrap and not a worldclass bout.

ronda got destroyed by a superior athlete

plain and simple

nothing like silva. gotta be kidding me.

I think the champion almost automatically gets a rematch if they want one... at least when they have a 10 win title defense streak. :patrice:
Thats not a Ronda special treatment thing... thats just kinda standard.

But... she has been fighting basically back to back for a fairly long time.

They should let her take some time off and bring her back on a card with a returning GSP :ohhh:Break sales records again.

I have a feeling she'll go on a long layoff

Does holm fight during that layoff though?

Oh, by the way... the only reason Ronda made it out of RD 1 is because Herb pauses the fight cause Ronda knocked Holly's mouthpiece out. Otherwise Ronda was about to get knocked out around the 1 minute left mark... cause she is completely wobbly charging Holly to box some more like an idiot.

Nah...something was wrong...she was tired from trying to stand up and fight. She should of did the grappling, judo techniques, and the take downs from the SECOND she started instead of chasing her around the ring and missing wildly. That didn't even make any sense..Holms is a LEGIT fukking boxing champion and she was using Mayweather type foot work in there. She had her swinging and missing...taking all kind of energy out of her. Ronda thought she would STRIKE and FIGHT this girl...she was given horrible advice. Her strengths are submissions and leverage..wtf was she thinking and her cardio looked bad to me, despite the missing. Yeah she had some grips on her but by then, she seemed tired as fukk:laugh: Holms was REALLY strong too...she wasn't able to stay on her with Holms having such good core strength.

If Ronda doesn't do the rematch, which because she's so arrogant I think she will...then it's Holms vs Meisha Tate next because Meisha was PROMISED the fight that Holms just got. Dana basically lied to Meisha to get this fight made..

She was already hurt from boxing.
She spends the first minute and a half getting socked in the face cause she is trying to exchange, eats some big rights, and the first time they clench is at 3:35 left in RD 1 where she goes to dbl underhooks (to seperate) instead of trying to use the clench to throw or holding her to control the arm.
She does this cause she thinks she can box with her.
You should go contrast this with something like the Carla Esperansa / JJ fight where Carla knows she cannot standup with JJ so clutches onto her relentlessly not looking to seperate (same thing DC used to do). Ronda belived in her head she could box with this champion boxer for 90% of the match. By the time she truley realizes she is outclassed in boxing she is seconds away from being knockedout.

She tries another clench at 2:40 left in RD 1, but its only cause she is dazed again from almost being knocked out by a overhand some jabs and an elbow. So, she instinctively goes to her judo from being dazed... but because she is dazed she can't do anything with it. It just saves her from being knockedout again...

She gets caught a few more times so tries (and successfully) grabs Holly's arm at like 1:45 left in RD 1... but instead of holding or draging the arm she lets it go to throw punches.
:wow:

Holly gets away. Ronda catches a straight left... then a straight right.... both to the face.
Then Holly hits her with a punch at 1:18 left in RD 1 that essentially ends the fight. This is the punch that drains all Ronda's life like Little Mac hit the select. button.

th

And even though she gets out of RD 1 and makes it into RD 2... its already over. She is dead on her feet. Its too late.

ROME HAS FALLEN

:mjlol:
Holly worked this beautifully..it was a work of art. She made Ronda pay for every mistake she did..she pot shotted her...hit her with furious power punch counters and tatted that face up. Ronda took some good damn shots in that first round..I was kind of surprised she didn't get knocked down a few times and she knew at a certain point that the rushing in and wild flurries wouldn't work so she went back to the grappling and she was too gassed out at that point. Her game plan was absolutely idiotic. The rematch is interesting to me because she won't be striking like that next time...she'll go back to what made her but Holms will be using lead jabs and power punches to keep the distance in the second fight...Ronda going for grabs while Holms uses counter boxing and gets slick from any takedown measures. That's the tale of the next match.

When Tyson lost...he got all the attention and it was Definitely about if he could recover. So that makes sense...when Roy lost to Tarver, people wanted to know if Roy just got caught from coming down in weight from heavyweight and not having his usual reflexes and acumen where it always was. So the third fight was intriguing.....

HOLMS deserves a TON of credit and should be treated like a god right now because she was better and put on a prime Mayweather/Roy/Silva exhibition on Ronda.

I think people are overlooking the fact that Ronda needs to go in close to do a judo throw. How else is she gonna get to close the gap between her and Holms? Has anyone seen Ronda even attempt to throw a kick ever? She "had" to be aggressive to stay away from the head kick and not get picked apart form the outside. But we know how that went. I will go more in detail on the podcast www.fteswl.com tonight :blessed:

There'll be a re-match because Dana needs his cash - but Ronda doesn't deserve one at all.

Those lefts down the pipe were pristine. When Holly flashed that Bones elbow though... :wow::wow::wow: I thought those oblique kicks were just some tacked on BS at first but she really went and got the full upgrade:blessed:

Jon Jones camp gonna be running through whole squads. :whew:
haha...of course she deserves a rematch. She took on all comers and gave Holms a chance...I know dudes hate her for being so arrogant and being anti-Mayweather but a losing dominant champion always deserves an immediate rematch unless they are too injured to do the rematch.

Her game plan was stupid. She shouldn't have been coming forward like that...she should of been MUCH slower than usual..this is a REAL boxer:laugh: You don't rush in like a teenage girl fighting in the park at school:laugh: She really THOUGHT she could box and fight with this chick:laugh: She should of let her come to her and relied on her grappling...wtf was this kid thinking? I just don't get it. This Edmund character is fukking insane telling her to act like that and then after round 1, saying she did alright. That was DUMB as fukk too:laugh:
