nothing wrong with depicting real black people and the real types of jobs we used to occupy. my maternal grandma was literally just like one of the black women in "the help". she spent more time raising white babies than she did raising her own 9 kids.

since cecil is real, there is nothing inherently wrong with this movie's subject matter. lee daniels does trouble me though. this dude does seem to focus on black degradation (monster's ball, precious)

in the hands of another director, i might actually look forward to it. but given who is involved, i will skip this one.

We still ain't got that Black Superhero summer blockbuster or really any heroic blacks on the screen.

Squelch the resistant blacks like the panthers and show that the way for blacks to be is submissive or non violent protest.
