Always lose me with the programming and conditioning shyt. Makes people sound like helpless drones. Like Black people have no autonomy or freedom of thought. People are chosing what they like and value and demanding more of it constantly.
The programming and conditioning part is set low expectations for the culture. Yes black people have autonomy and most of us use it everyday. Yes, you're right too.

You're right. Bottom line is that the culture has to change. Hood shyt has become way too popularized and celebrated to the point there is no balance.
I am all for being a rebel and doing things outside the scope of capitalism but criminality isn't it. Part of the reason we celebrate hood shyt is because we think its rebellious and its going against the system of White Supremacy. In actuality its just a part of the system of White Supremacy and screws us as a people in the long run. There is nothing strong, honorable or rebellious about a brother with 3 felonies, who can barely read, has multiple baby mamas, and has no marketable/valuable skills. I respect a hood dude following in the footsteps of someone like Fred Hampton more than any of the clown shyt that's considered being a 'real nikka' nowadays.
We're doing shyt backwards and we need to realize this before its too late.

The real black men are disciplined, educated, knowledgable etc. Those are the brothers I'd go into to battle with. These hood nikkas aren't a threat to anyone but other hood nikkas

100% Correct. The thing is you have to look at history and not just some obscure or unknown Black figure but the usual MLK and Malcolm X. These two men were literally the embodiment of what you just highlighted they were such a threat that the STATE/GOVT (not some individual) that they were continuously monitored by the govt. and suspected of being eliminated by the govt. Which goes to show you who really makes white ppl shake in their boots and it is not some hood Black dude who terrorizes his own community.

Why are people so incapable of knowing their own history and have such a lack of critical thinking skills and analysis?

For this Shmurda thing, that NPR podcast tells on how ridiculously reckless and the disregard of other human beings he and his gang banging friends had with not only the lives of those people who were about that criminal life BUT harming regular hard working people who had NOTHING to do with whatever childish and dangerous neighborhood beefs him and his crew were getting into.

The funny thing ppl are saying he paid his debt to society cool but how about a mea culpa to the people in his neighborhood OUTSIDE of the court room and not in front of the judge so he can get his sentence reduced or get a good plea deal. Treating him like a freedom fighter is not really going to make him do that and further compounds the problem.

Above the fray.

"Woke" is surface layer awareness, to be be displayed publicly. Repeat of early 70s and early 90s trends about the same thing.

The "African" medallions have just been replaced by #hashtags.

Look at the incentive that the young black male gets for being an intellectual.

-years of being undermined by schools
-family and friends underestimating them
-women bypassing them
-formative years in the books, and skipping most get-togethers, parties, and trips altogether.
-White supremacy holding them back
-waits until 20 something, or late as 30 something, until they get financial success

Look at the incentive that the young black mae gets for being a degenerate street thug:

-bytches on him. Threesome, orgies, all that.
-OGs giving him props
-crazy years of parties that only could be matched by celebs
-potential rap deals and endless clout on social media. Or even a promoter that is well respected.
-fashion game on point. Stays on top of the superficial scene.
-people giving him props as the gold standard of being a "real black man"
-if locked up, he will be remembered as a street legend, and if they come home, gets a whole 3 months of endless partying and financial gifts.

Now you see why young black men feel insulted and lonely for years on end when they pursue a path of legal and intellectual growth. Depression, neglect, and countless external and internal pressures By white society makes it all too easy to give up. By far the most disrespected demographic in America, bar none.
