I'm dumping this car this time next summer.

Just got my car out of the dealer for a new HPFP and there's no way I could afford to keep it going at this rate out of warranty.

I'm at 68K and have owned the car since 44K. If I didn't have CPO, I'd be out around $4K I think. That's unacceptable. Here's what I've had done at the dealer so far.

HPFP
Valve cover gasket
Control arm bushings
Fuel pressure sensor
Electric water pump
Thermostat
Oil filter gasket
Intake manifold cleaning

That's not counting changing the spark plugs and regular maintenance/gas.

I'm hoping the turbos fail soon so they can go ahead and change those out too. Well then again, it won't matter.

Yeah that's why I can't fukk with the 335i. Too many problems here and there that'll nickle and dime you to death. I'd consider one if it was CPO but those usually run high in price. The 328i seems to be more reliable but then you're only pushin 235 without much room for easy upgrades like the 335i.

Might have to get a G37 :wow:

I've recommended the G35/37 to friends and they've all liked them. There's a dude at the shop I go to that has 400K miles on a 1st gen G35. Hard to recommend a used 3-series unless you're really obsessed with BMW, don't mind spending money on cars, or are a masochist. Most 335 owners are all 3.

Those are all normal items for these cars except the LPFP.

are stock turbos really popping left and right? Also is there are a timing belt/ major service that needs to be done around 100k?

sort of considering these but will probably buy a b8 s4
