This is worse than just a much tougher sell to white people (although that's bad enough), it's a poison pill. If the harm done by slavery cannot be compensated for by any fixed amount of money, any amount of money given as reparations would be seen as a waste. It also suggests a lack of belief in black people to better ourselves given the means to do so. Instead, you'd have us be wards of white people until the end of time.

If your thinking only in terms of cash payments sure… and yes, I believe we lack the ability to better ourselves given a check.

I think you're wrong for a lot of reasons, but let me add that indefinite payments leaves room for subsequent administrations to negate/undercut it.

I wouldn’t like to see payments but rather some form of privileged status. I think permanent tax exemption would be great.

I also agree any cash would be a one time thing.
