Started watching this on Saturday night but was way too tired and wanted to enjoy it. So stopped after half an hour.

Ended up at one of my chicks houses last night and she rented it. $24

But it was very enjoyable. Its hard to get child actors to come across as not bratty but the kids in this were amazing.

Much better movie than Boy behind the door, which has a similar premise and frustrated me to no end at how dumb the kids in that film were.

This felt more plausible even with the supernatural elements.

I’ll say it again I bet Scott Derrickson Dr Strange 2 would have been a lot better than what we ended up getting.

This was the movie of the year to me. And humor wise, I haven't :russ:that much in a long time. Love the fights in here. Like I was really into it. A couple of jump scares caught me off guard. Even the message was not even politically correct with the bullying part. Emotionally haven't connected to movie like this in years.

This fukking guy was a badass. Reminded me of how 80s and 90s movies often had this one cool kid who was clearly the leader.

I liked the movie overall. I wouldn't say it was scary but certainly unsettling as fukk when you think about how kids are kidnapped like that daily. I thought the stuff with the guy's brother felt very odd, strangely done. Them both being in the same house...but there was another house, etc etc. Eh.

Ending wise I just thought it felt too much like some adventure moving ending where all is well and the kid gets the girl. I will say that I've spoken to some parents who watched the film and they really liked the happy ending. They all mentioned how hard it was to watch the movie due to...well, kids getting straight up abducted and killed. So I can imagine if I had kids I'd prob appreciate that type of ending more.

This is me. By far the hardest scene to watch was the dad beating his daughter, her acting was INCREDIBLE in that scene, like upper echelon levels of acting.

I fukking loved this movie, but agree with the general Coli consensus that it's not really a horror film. More a supernatural thriller.

I was wondering if the kids were the same kids as Sinister 1 or 2, but I couldn't find any info.

What was kinda wacky is the girls dreams and the cops basically being worthless as fukk, I guess the payoff to this is the penultimate scene where the police chief has them take all of the credit for solving this case :russ: if Joe Hill is anything like his pops then this was a big middle finger to the police.

The movie is super succesful, so wouldn't be surprised to see a sequel or prequel. Hope they don't fukk it up like they did with Sinister 2.
