Okay I just got to the midway point of the documentary and was Fred Hampton an agent:ohhh: this ole We are the World ass nikka preaching white power to a room full of cacs and trying to turn the movement into the Rainbow Coalition looking real funny in the light:patrice:

edit...just saw Fred was assassinated by the CIA but my point still stands:yeshrug:the all inclusive/there is only the human race rhetoric Freddy preached sounded more new black than black revolutionary:comeon:

be the black militant MLK brehs:martin:

That's partially what led to their downfall.

They got way too inclusive, which made it much easier for COINTELPRO to infiltrate the movement.

my only issue is that the doc suggested Huey's legend was bigger than the man himself and toward the end he was an crazed power hungry zealot thug(no longer fit to lead )whom abused his authority/ran off loyal members of the movement while Fred "All Lives Matter" Hampton is alluded to as the true black Messiah of the Panthers and COINELPRO c00n agent Eldridge Cleave is giving a pass until the very end in which his treachery only briefly mentioned:aicmon:

i also find it odd the doc didn't mention or go into the Marin Country courthouse standoff being it was one of the more notable Black Panther headlines during that era:patrice:

Sounds like you gotta do your googles on Fred:ufdup:,he was only willing to die for one group of people....Your stance is one made out of fear, but from Freds point of view theirs nothing scary about white people, brown people, yellow people having power IF its not abused....And IF black people had our own equal power of our own,and a community that could sustain itself then no other group of people would be able to abuse or oppress us even if they did have power of their own.

And lets not pretend Fred was talking about power to any ol white person,he didn't believe power should belong to anybody who didn't have the education, who would go on to be oppressors themselves....That went for black people as well,Fred was giving those cacs an education...if you were a white person who wanted to BE the oppressor you would simply get ran over or stripped of your power.

And while we talk about the all inclusiveness,it was black people willing to sellout that did Fred in along with the Panthers....even though it was on the orders of white men,it couldn't be carried out without black faces.

And look at the Michael B Jordan video I posted,Fred had a theory, many great black minds of the times had theories and actually put it in to PRACTICE.....They were all actually trying to build on their theories to see which ones worked and which ones didn't....People love to discredit the theories of these great black men from the past from Fred,Malcolm,MLK who actually put in WORK....What do they discredit them with?Theories of their own on how it should be done, never any WORK though:sas1:

Being that none of these black men lived to complete their plans to completetion, and blacks still don't have power nobodys theories have been proven right or wrong....Difference between them and us,is they actually put their theories and ideologys into practice, and died and went to jail to do so....We sit around arguing who's theories would work the best, and never put any work in to find out for ourselves....As if we all need to agree on a single theory before any of us move collectively.....theres nothing wrong with multiple movements, theres something wrong with no movement.

I reject your point on the grounds its disrespectful:scust:

that all sounds good but the oppressed trying to build or liberate themselves with the help of their oppressor is setting themselves up for failure...history has shown that all social spectrum of cacs(including the po white trash Freddy was trying to work with) are threatened by black advancement and when it comes to close to reality they show their true colors and will do anything to stop it..Fred heart was probably in the right place but he was naive if he really believed the dreams he was selling:comeon:i'm going to give him the benefit of a doubt/hope he was just being politically correct and attempting to use those cacs as leverage for political reasons:yeshrug:

You'd have to say this about all the black panthers then,Fred wasn't the only one who didn't hate white people,or accepted help from white people....I think the major point is that they weren't ASKING or reliant on white people in regard to freeing themselves from the oppressor....I don't think history has proven what you said based on the fact race is still used as a tool of those in power to keep poor blacks and whites fighting, just as it was back then....Fred wasn't asking them to like us or accept us,just trying to educate them on who the oppressor they should be worried about. IF they wanted to be oppresors or ride for the oppressor they were his enemy....That's a fundamental difference between him and MLK.

And sure these poor whites could be educated they are pawns by Fred, only to still go on to gain power and use it to become the oppressor....But black people could be educated, gain power and still go on to try to oppress black people too,we often do:mjcry:....All of that becomes irrelevant though when black people have the power as a collective group....the poor whites couldn't go on to oppress us,nor could a few blacks who may decide to become oppressors.

If this movie is misrepresenting Fred that's another story,I'm still watching:popcorn:

well in this interview Huey never denied hating whitey but tried to make clear black folks have legit reasons to do so with color being the least of them:sas2:

regardless i've never heard any other active Panther but Fred reach out to poor white trash or encourage them to exert and express their white power:comeon:The Panthers were known to play politics with influential/wealthy cac celebs, politicians or privileged college kids if they could use them to help achieve their interest but which is a far cry from Freddy reaching out to impoverished hillbillies whom brought nothing to the table and most likely were overt racist:stopitslime:Fred should have stuck to the script/worked on getting his own people straight first and the poor cacs start their own movement:camby:the rich don't have never had to white trash against black people hate for anyone non whites/especially blacks is in their DNA...Just look at how Neo Nazism is a epdiemic in poor Eastern European countries which don't even have blacks like that:comeon:

well idk about you but i rather take my chances with and give someone from my community a chance to run things than someone from the same community has had their foot on my people's neck for ove 400 hundred years.:aicmon:giving the precedent i'm comfortable in saying poor cacs turning against the white power structure to help end white supremacy aint happening and Freddy was a fool to think otherwise.:manny:
