Because most Black people including pawger Frederick Douglass wanted nothing to do with Africa or building a country there that they would control. Nor did most Black people.
Because they liked being in anti-Black mostly white country where they had no real rights or power and could be kidnapped and taken into slavery at any moment.
And the main problem for Black Americans is that they're in the no mans land of the US with no culture or identity other than scraps from Africa that most don't want and white american culture with a black-ish tinge to it. And since most have been here for centuries they don't want to go anywhere and prefer hanging up under whites with no power or control over their circumstances.
I've said it before, but right minded black people have to adopt a zero tolerance policy for the dregs of the black community. Call them out as the cold blooded race traitors that they are, and see them like you would the Klan because currently they have even more of an impact on black lives than the Klan does. We have to accept that some are just lost, the violent ones, and worry about everyone else.
The only area I would consider myself "conservative" in is punishment for violent crime. I'd support ultra harsh penalties for it. Nevermind the reasons, the excuses or whatever. Punish them severely, rehabilitate non-violent offenders and try to save the at risk before they cross the line. They're a cancer that must be excised for there to be any chance of a brighter future. Even if I understand the environmental reasons that produce them, the harm they cause on a grand scale must be dealt with.

I've read your posts and I think our politics are very similar. However, while I recognize the causes, my opinion is that it doesn't matter at a certain point - the harm is being done and the systemic changes that are necessary isn't going to magically come about tomorrow or next week or the week after. So what can be done in the meantime? We have to get the violent ones off the streets, period. The one law and order area I believe is punishment for violent crime. Tired of repeat offenders that have been charged with assaults, robberies, etc. getting out and going on to murder. Just saw a story today about a guy who stabbed a stranger on the subway in the back for asking him to quiet down. If it was up to me that dude would get 15 years minimum. Someone who would stab someone for no good fukking reason is too much of a time bomb to have roaming the streets because who knows what he'll escalate to? Instead, if they catch him, he'll get a year or so and then probation most likely. fukk that in my opinion. As sad as it is, and even how much it angers me because I think a lot of these violent offenders could have been something else in the right environment, in a country that valued its citizens more, ultimately once they become the monster they need to go for the sake of the community. Have to write em' off as gone. Then we put as much focus and energy as possible on preventing people from getting there in the first place. But once that line is crossed - gotta GO.
