Breh I grew up in the church used to be there every Sunday and some Bible study on Wednesdays. I don’t judge anyone but there are some things that need to be addressed. Another thing we accept anything and allow anyone to come in. Churches should be a place where preachers should be able to tell the truth about everything from holidays to how we live, to relationships. I’m not goin try and rain on y’all’s parade. I know most of yall hate religion with a passion. Or you generalize and think mega churches and prosperity preaching is the only gospel. There are TONS of churches, big and small that are doing things right.
There are churches and preachers or pastors that actually care about the members and want to responsibly Shepard their souls…it’s just what you’re looking for when selecting a church to be a member of. Plus, I do work in my home church. I’m on the trustee board plus other things and ministries. So yall go on and talk down to religion, but for a long while the black church was the centerpiece of the community. People were different then, and maybe why things are so messed up now. Because we’ve lost that “center” cats that sing don’t even come up singing in the church anymore. SMH.
Y’all can use the examples of preachers and churches doing bad bc there’s ALWAYS gonna be folk that try and pervert even “good” things but again, there are more than enough examples of churches doing it right.

This thread is a circlejerk for nikkas who have a bone to pick with religion or haven’t been in a church for 10+ years . I’m not deeply religious, I do not attend church every Sunday…but the shyt in that video and in this thread is pure nonsense
The focus on mega churches in the video is silly ..nikka talking about Eddie Long and other prosperity pastors from the 90s with washed music in the background. There are plenty of community churches doing the right thing and not stealing or poisoning the community.
The church isn’t “weak” or bowing to white supremacy or whatever goofy nikka nikkas on. There are pastors out here preaching the message of and organizing activist churches .I listened to a sermon from that style of preacher 3 weeks ago .The videos final points on social conservative churches being the only ones left in our community is just deadass wrong .Just find the church..all of em ain’t got the same message
Talking about capitalism and spending to keep up with appearances…put some pants on and a polo . You a grown man. I’ve seen nikkas in sweatsuits in church and nobody gave a fukk. nikkas just feel inadequate and ashamed when they see the next person wearing whatever nice shyt he/she has on so that’s the excuse
I know exactly what kind of black church would do numbers with black men…a church that removes all accountability from us and preaches about how white ppl is fukking us over every Sunday .

The real issue is the church has made men feel rightfully ashamed . Women have taken the lead because most nikkas are sitting on their ass not doing shyt in their community . Women are the lead economically,spiritually,educationally and emotionally in most households . When a pastor points that out in the church and tells nikkas how they ain’t shyt men tuck their tails and say “oh church ain’t for us no more “ instead of stepping up and taking accountability for what’s going on.

There are tons of great churches out there and most churches aren't even mega churches. Most churches have 30-100 members and the pastor has another job outside of pastoring.
