I've been deep into the rif mountains where berbers the only thing that grows is the marijuana plant. Do you know how much weed you need to make a tiny bit of hash? Now Imagine a country that produces 70% of the world's hashish and how many plants are needed to get that amount of hash. The whole faces of the mountains are just covered with weed farms. Like industrial sized farms. It was truly a sight to see. In exchange for helping the government fight the French and get independence there was a deal made where these mountainous berbers can grow and export as much weed as they want. And they are all armed still so if you are up there fukking around they shoot you and bury you in the mountain. My berber tribe isn't from the mountain area we are from the desert area in the south but we could still go up there untouched.

You have a very simplistic and rudimentary understanding of blackness.
You're equating blackness with struggle.
You're equating blackness with slums.
You're equating blackness with war zones.
You're equating blackness with trouble.
You could never truly understand the sheer vastness of what black encapsulates if that perception is built off of what you see from the "outside". As another poster mentioned, blackness, as well as the concept of race in general, was created out of western capitalism. So it is a western concept and through western imperialism got adopted into the consciousness of people the world over. Although the idea of blackness was created out of western capitalism, it has been nurtured, defined, and refined by African Americans and through the export of our culture, has been adopted by other peoples the world over.
Western society does not consider North Africans to be black, at least in the Western sense. The prevailing thought has been that North Africans are a product of Arab expansion. Up until recently, the Irish, Spanish, and Italians were not even considered white until it became politically advantageous. The concept of race is so layered, that beside it being a genetic and cultural separation, it could be a geographic separation as well.
Not a knock on you but I've noticed many Africans and Middle Easterners understanding things in very simplistic terms. Blackness is a plurality of things that cannot really be understood without looking at it through an American paradigm which is why Aframs appear to be seen as authorities on it.

Technically this is all correct many African American laymen are ignorant on the history of Morocco and North Africa they think everyone in North Africa with light skin is an "Arab." and that they are the real Moors and Egyptians this is of course non-sense. African American historians and scientists know better.....(well the ones outside of Clyde Winters)
The truth is Eurasian admixture has been present in the Northern tips of North Africa for tens of thousands of years......Moroccans in North Morocco have always been fairly light skin due to admixture with Phoenicians, Romans etc etc....

He's right though the average Moroccan or at least the ones who are exposed to Western Audiences typically look like your Levantine Arab. Before I started researching Black History I was surprised there were so many "black" Moroccans completely indigenous to the area. If it were totally up to Western media and Western academia however there would be ZERO black people anywhere in North Africa.

It's a pretty well known fact in genetic circles that southern Moroccans have upwards of 25% sub-Saharan DNA - more than any other North African group, so most likely you are not 100% Berber on you paternal side. You would have to post DNA results to proof that out.

Nobody from my tribe has used any of these dna tests. The dna markers wouldn't be on the system. So how could that work?

Most Moroccans are mixed that is correct but from what I understand the ones in the South (particularly around the deserts) are black....This was due to Arabs (except the Bedouin) and other groups not being able to traverse the harsh deserts ....
