Very Powerful Thread

Good shyt breh

The Coli a black forum but the way "nikkas" here mobilize against any black nikka going against the grain is so sus. I dont even necessarily agree with everything Cube say or being out here with Tucker, but there's clearly something going against him in the industry, and it needs to be exposed and addressed.

Fair enough, but live action basketball should demand more than prescripted second tier wrestling
Second tier wrestling has enough marks to justify its existence enough for three shows a week.
This forum doesn't care about the Big 3. Why is this a thread?

“you know I never cared about basketball but ever since MC Hammer stood up for himself against those leftists Marxist socialist gatekeepers, I might go to one of his games and buy me a soda pop”

YOU NOT A HOOPER THO.

THESE DUDES CAN STILL PLAY
AND ISO JOE COULD DROP BUCKETS
ON ANYONE IN THE NBA
IF A TEAM WANTED TO LET
HIM DO THAT.

JUST BECAUSE THE LEAGUE
AGES DUDES OUT TO BRING
IN YOUNG PLAYERS WHO
ARENT EVEN READY FOR YRS
IN MOST CASES DOESNT MEAN
THESE GUYS CANT PLAY ANYMORE.

yeah this whole Big 3 thing is just the same as the Senior PGA Tour. Those old ass golfers are still damn good and even compete against the young guys at the majors. They aren't in their prime but they still "got it". That's why the tour is very successful and those golfers can make millions on the senior tour.

Basically the same shyt as the Big 3. A lot of these older brehs still got the skills and can still compete at a level that entertains fans. If the NBA worked with Cube they could build the Big 3 to the point where older hoopers can enjoy the same financial benefit as the older golfers while the NBA and Cube make more money.

Asking seriously, not trying to troll:

Anybody got a link to this data? I'm legit interested in what the comparisons are.

It seems like a successful league to me...idk about the comparison with the NHL and MLS

The league's games airing on CBS have seen viewership grow substantially compared to last season and are rapidly increasing week to week.
Week 1
06/25
483,000

Week 2
07/01
501,000

Week 3
07/09
525,000

Week 4
07/15
600,000

Week 4 in Memphis earned a 0.31 rating and averaged 600,000 viewers during the league's 3.5-hour broadcast window from 3:00pm to 6:30pm ET. This represents a 46% increase from 412,000 viewers and a 0.26 rating in the same weekend time slot last year. An impressive hold for a three-and-a-half-hour window, BIG3 topped tough competition in the time slot, including the NBA summer league on ESPN (309,000 viewers) and MLB on FS1 (369,000) and nearly matched NASCAR on USA (609,000) in overlapping broadcast windows. The league finished just shy of Wimbledon's Women's finals on ABC (762,000).

"We're thrilled to see this continued interest and growth as we start season six," said BIG3 co-founder Ice Cube. "It's a testament to the highly competitive and entertaining product we put on the court each week. This season is the best yet."

You'd assume so, but broadcast windows are everything when it comes to paying out for TV deals.

I think what's hamstringing them right now is the nature of their traveling festival style schedule, and broadcasting live. I imagine trying to coordinate six hours of basketball to line up with an a two or three hour window somewhere between 8PM and 11PM is hard than it sounds.

I agree that there's a crazy disparity, but if someone actually tried to answer in good faith, I imagine the answer would be that the difference comes down to timeslots and volume.

Big 3 has a limited run of summer weekend afternoon broadcasts, whereas AEW is providing 52 weeks of midweek, Friday, and Saturday primetime programming, which is more valuable, not to mention PPVs. Unfortunately, 600,000 viewers on Saturday night probably doesn't mean as much as 600,000 viewers on Saturday afternoon, since ad rates are almost always higher for primetime. CBS should really consider working it out to get them running in primetime a couple of times.

BIG3 WAS DOING 1 MILLION VIEWERS
WHEN IT HAD THE PRIMETIME FRIDAY
SPOT ON FOX...

FOX STARTED SELLING OF
PIECES OF ITS CORP
AND BIG3 GOT fukkED
IN THE PROCESS.

Not sure why Fox would've cut Big3, since as I remember it, they aired on Fox and FS1, the properties that they kept. They should've been unaffected by then getting rid of their entertainment divisions.

CBS would be smart to push them to schedule later windows at arenas next year to go back to primetime. There isn't a single network out there that wouldn't love to have a night of summer programming at least two thirds account for, if not in full.

On what? What does he need from the NBA that is cockblocking this blossoming league? Did Cube want Melo to play for Aliens and Silver said no or something? Isaiah Thomas out here begging for work. Why hasn’t he joined 3’s Company? There’s hall of fame coaches for The Big 3. Is Adam Silver gonna make Dr. J pay to get into an arena now?

If the growth is real, shop your league around. Make CBS pay more. We’re in the middle of a strike that has gone on since May. Can The Big 3 get more than 2 hours on a weekend?

It’s less about the lack of coverage. If Sportscenter led off with Donte Greene’s spectacular night against Michael Beasley, that’s when you call it a night.

Kenyon don’t seem completely on board with it.

Says it makes sense giving they’re retired NBA players, but says it’s changed from what it originally was. Age limit lowered to 25. Mentioned that they way they’ve gone about it doesn’t help. If you publicly talking shyt about me, why would I help?
