I don't even get the appeal of the big 3. It's a league full of washed up former C level NBA players. I don't even like watching washed up dudes in the NBA let alone 10 years after they retire.

YOU NOT A HOOPER THO.

THESE DUDES CAN STILL PLAY
AND ISO JOE COULD DROP BUCKETS
ON ANYONE IN THE NBA
IF A TEAM WANTED TO LET
HIM DO THAT.

JUST BECAUSE THE LEAGUE
AGES DUDES OUT TO BRING
IN YOUNG PLAYERS WHO
ARENT EVEN READY FOR YRS
IN MOST CASES DOESNT MEAN
THESE GUYS CANT PLAY ANYMORE.

THE BIG3 IS SUCH BEAUTIFUL THING FOR OUR YOUTH.

I REMEMBER GOING TO

WAS BLACK...
THE COMPLETE OPPOSITE
OF THE HUNDREDS OF BULLS GMS
IVE BEEN TO.

SEEING ALL THOSE KIDS WHO
NORMALLY WOULDNT
BE ABLE TO AFFORD A BULLS GM
TOUCHED MY HEART.

EXACTLY....

THE BIG3 HELD ITS OWN
GOING TOE TO TOE
WITH A BUNCH OF HEAVYWEIGHTS
A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO.

'Week 4 in Memphis earned a 0.31 rating and averaged 600,000 viewers during the league's 3.5-hour broadcast window from 3:00pm to 6:30pm ET. This represents a 46% increase from 412,000 viewers and a 0.26 rating in the same weekend time slot last year. An impressive hold for a three-and-a-half-hour window, BIG3 topped tough competition in the time slot, including the NBA summer league on ESPN (309,000 viewers) and MLB on FS1 (369,000) and nearly matched NASCAR on USA (609,000) in overlapping broadcast windows. The league finished just shy of Wimbledon's Women's finals on ABC (762,000)."

HAD A NON BLACK INDEPENDENT LEAGUE PULLED THIS OFF WE WOULD
NEVER HEAR THE END OF IT.

Meanwhile, fukkin AEW Wrestling gets that weekly on their shows, almost identical ratings, and what are they offered?

Rumors had suggested AEW's TV deal will be worth $1 billion but those estimates are apparently on the low side. According to Wade Keller of PWTorch, AEW's new deal with Warner Bros. Discovery is expected to be worth approximately $240 million per year over five years. That would bring the total value of the deal to $1.2 billion, or 20% more than originally reported. Breaking the numbers down on a weekly basis, that's approximately $4.6 million per week that All Elite Wrestling would be making and would really help ensure they are operating in the green as a profitable company.
In what world is 2nd tier league play fighting worth more than a secondary basketball league? Crazy breh

1.2B for this:
AEW Collision drew an average audience of 618,000 viewers. Viewership increased from last week’s show, which ran before a live edition of AEW Battle of the Belts VII. Last week’s viewership was 579,000. This is the second-highest audience for Collision to date, behind only the debut episode, which drew 816,000 viewers.
Friday night's episode of AEW Rampage averaged 310,000 viewers on TBS, down 15.8 percent from the previous week. It's the lowest audience total for the show since June 9 and the second-lowest viewership the show has ever drawn in its regular time slot.

The NBA doesn't see the Big 3 as legitimate, and therefore won't do business with them. End of story.

To be fair, I never see a Big 3 game, event or play being discussed on the Coli either.

Like it's all in one big megathread I believe but I never see a thread made 'bout "Did you just see that spin move by so and so??"

And nobody is talking about Big 3 games on here. How many people can name three teams without looking them up? What are the standings?

I agree that there's a crazy disparity, but if someone actually tried to answer in good faith, I imagine the answer would be that the difference comes down to timeslots and volume.

Big 3 has a limited run of summer weekend afternoon broadcasts, whereas AEW is providing 52 weeks of midweek, Friday, and Saturday primetime programming, which is more valuable, not to mention PPVs. Unfortunately, 600,000 viewers on Saturday night probably doesn't mean as much as 600,000 viewers on Saturday afternoon, since ad rates are almost always higher for primetime. CBS should really consider working it out to get them running in primetime a couple of times.

Fair enough, but live action basketball should demand more than prescripted second tier wrestling
