Explain the ads and music to distract us... What were we being distracted from (in the movie?)

well i just gave you the phone thing... which put you in the seat of people at the conference.. cause they were tuning out carrell like his speech was tuned out with the buzzing, ringing, and talking


for the rest of the movie.... anytime something big would happen.. they'd break to some music video, loud music, advertising for mcdonalds, etc.. or show people still going about their lives, having fun, buying bullshyt, ignoring what is right in front of their faces


instead of fading out, or meshing into the next scene, or even some scenery cut or something..... they'd always cut to a montage of THAT... cause in the beginning, gosling was saying explaining that nobody cared, because they were too busy doing this same shyt

then he takes quadruple the money from the banks, gets flown around by the banks, and lets the banks fukk you over every chance they get


and then your boy sits down with him... and he explains.... "i work for your boy, not the banks"

So Carrell was going because the asian guy created the CDO's and he knew there was a bunch of subprime mortgages in them yet still sold em to investors like they were AAA rated. Right? Sorry that whole CDO and synthetic CDO part kinda went over my head.

yup... the whole time, nobody seemed to know what was going on


through the research and them traveling, they found out that all the bankers and investors and ratings people DID know what was going on.... just didn't give any fukks... and it didn't matter who they SAID they worked for... they all worked for themselves

the real estate guys (i want my 7 series)

the rating lady (i need my job)

the asian guy (i fly in a helicopter, more important than you, i'm awesome)

lehman brothers owner (hahaha i'd buy more of my stock, even as it hit record lows)

even the other two guys who made it rich (dancing in the casino)





nobody gave two fukks unless they got rich... just like america.... if it doesn't happen to you, who gives two fukks.... until it happens

Also did the dude really have a glass eye? that looks like some shyt Christian Bale would probably want his character to have to make him more interesting.

Bale can never do a regular character.

I'm curious as to what their side of the story is? Like how do THEY justify their greed? I'm surprised none of them have ever tried to put out a doc or movie explaining things from their POV...

They ruined so many lives across the globe. There is no positive spin for their side of the story. No one is trying to hear that.

They ruined so many lives across the globe. There is no positive spin for their side of the story. No one is trying to hear that.

i wish carrell's character did... i mean THEY didn't ruin shyt

nobody really ruined anything who got rich


it'd be like if you knew 9/11 was going to happen... you go back in time... tell everyone you know, it's gonna happen.... nobody believes you for shyt, no matter how many people, in how many positions you tell

so you go ahead and buy life insurance for all the people who gonna die

great flick... hollywood has done an excellent job adapting michael lewis's books... from blindside, to moneyball to this... GREAT job. that doesn't happen very often.

movie makes me wish i would have gone into finance instead of IT,

8 mins left bit I had to catch the train.
My issue with the movie is this....

The exposed fraud, great!
But only bank fraud.

I'm really hoping they also criticized the Obama administration for bailing them out in the remaining 8 mins.
And the fallacy in govts "too big to fail" motto.

If they do not then this movie was made by dumbass liberal progressives that hate corrupt rich people/banks but will not critique a democratic president because they are a bunch of lefties.

That will turn this movie from a 10/10 to a 6/10!!!
