i feel what some of u r saying, tyler perrys movies arent tear jerkers or even well acted, he just overly preaches a topic and than goes "the end", as where as this movie added substance, style, creativity and morals without blatantly shoving them in your face. it was a good movie but was it a classic?? not really. just entertaining.

damn good movie...just surprised how many times they can put up with taye diggs snake ass character...also, part 3 will be interesting cause of the events in part 2...the movies revolved around the character that aint gonna be there...

Saw this on a date last night. I was the same way as others have said. My date was in tears the whole time so she couldn't notice me holding back. Absolutely loved the movie. Small annoyances.

1. Like somebody else mentioned, those two younger mixed kids stood out like crazy.
2. The typical "person walking in the room at the exact wrong time to catch someone in a compromising situation"
3. The whole finding devices with the thing they want hidden STILL open. The book cover, the youtube video on the phones.
4. In the football game was it just me or were they talking about plays were he caught passes as if they were adding to his rushing yards.
5. Chestnut after the game deciding they have to sprint immediately out of there but then showing up at the house in a different set of clothes.

Watching in a hood theatre added to the experience. All the women going crazy anytime Chestnut was shirtless. The laughs anytime Taye Diggs tried to act. Then during one of the late scenes some older woman unleashed a loud "oh lawd ohhhhhh" and started sobbing. The whole theatre went from tears to about a minute straight of laughing.

All the females was looking sexy. Somehow the light skinned broad grew on me by the end of the movie. Chestnut did a damn good job and Terrance Howard stole the show.

decent movie...it's disrespectful to compare this to the shyt Tyler Perry puts out..this is clearly better written, acted and directed.
Terrence Howard was funny as hell in this.

it got fast tracked for a sequel

1.saying either the budget gonna have too be bigger since all cast are not on contract no more like the last one which in turn means movie has too make more money too make profit (first one came out and cast was on contract for 2 movies and back then they weren't on a big salary so the 2nd movie didnt get paid much either)

2. keep same budget hope they take same salary or just a bit more if not some cast members won't be in the movie not replaced just not in the movie that way make profit more easier
