I believe it. Let me tell you about my nephew and my brother in law. My nephew is young 18 just finished high school, my brother in law just got out the pen l. Both of them ask me about how to get into being an electrician. I tell them about the trade school I went to and say I'll write both of them a recommendation letter since I'm a supervisor it will help then. I tell them you'll probably start at $17-19/hr but in 4 years when you become a fresh journeyman you'll be making $30/hr or more and you'll still get a raise every year. Both of them look into it and both of them decide to go work at a fukking warehouse making like $17/hr and are perfectly OK with just sticking it out until they find something else. Brother in law is a supervisor up there works his ass off to make $22/hr and brags about how he gets 80 hours a week 40 of them being OT, and he showed me his paycheck stub and he was looking like :mjcry: when he saw his 80 hour check isn't even what my 40 hour check is. Not to mention I promise they do more actual work than I do.

At the end of the day even if you present the avenue to someone, it ain't gonna make them go get it. Too many young black men are cool with these jobs that pay those meager salaries.

Preach. If you want the real bread, you gotta put the time in. Back home in Charleston SC, a couple of my potnahs are longshoremen. But to get there full time, you had to go to the dock and wait to get picked. Put in 700 hours and you get your card to become official (gotta do it every year afterwards). But so many "don't feel like" going there every day hoping to get picked. The ones that did and stuck it out and now certified and sitting lovely and my nikkaz that didn't feeling regret. The ones that are official now keep telling our other homies to come through and they'll try to get them picked so they can get their hours.

Too many cats today don't wanna put in the work, but go cry on social media about shyt like lil girls. You a grown ass man dog, put in the work and you'll get results eventually.

Always knew those numbers was like that , but unfortunately black folks don’t live in reality

Social Media will have some think black men and women are on the same level as whites and Asians

In this world it’s time for black men and women to get they head out their individualistic mindset that I don’t need each other and get together and stop trying to players and boss bytches

Put up those sisters numbers as well

Why do these studies use median instead of real averages?
because median is better than average. Ten dudes making 40k and one cat making a million will distort the average immensely. Median is absolutely a better barometer.

if you had a 10 dollar an hour job in the 90s, you were the man :pachaha: . That's 20k a year back then. 40k a year in today's money. So yeah, 50k (25$/hour) ain't bad. But when you have social media delusion from people who haven't sniffed real bread, reality gets muddled.

The fast rising wage growth in this country is unsubstantiated and unsustainable:respect:

All of this! They don't want to grind. They think they should start in the middle and go from there. They have no ambition or drive

I was telling my mom this weekend how I can't believe how far I've gotten on hard work and ambition. I used to dream about making the money I make now. The cherry on top is there's more to come. I get my promotion and bonus in November and December, respectively

I always said how I'd jump up and down, scream and shout etc after getting here, but instead I just thank myself for never giving up, remain humble and always look over the horizon for more opportunities to make myself valuable which makes more money

I'll never forget someone one here asked me when is enough money enough. I said, there's no dollar amount for me that's enough. As long as I have breath in my lungs I'm going to want more. Why on earth would anyone put a ceiling on the amount of legal money they can make in their lifetime?

shyt is so fukking sad man. I graduated few years ago and making more than any of the age brackets. From what I hear from my higher ups, its only up for me pertaining to my career. But I also know I can lose it all in a blink of a eye being a black man so I say humble and focused.

To all the brothers out there trying to making it, dont ever take your foot off the gas petal. Keep fukking going
This. I have a buddy who has his MBA and isn't using it. He has been at his current job for 3 years now. It pays decent but not 6 figures. He refuses to look elsewhere.
:dahell:
Meanwhile, his Wife is on her third job in 7 years making 175K with Intel working fully remote.
:whew:
He low key doesn't like the fact she's pulling more than him.
:damn:
I tell him, "it's ya'll money. Who cares who makes more? Together ya'll pulling a quarter mil. Be happy and feel blessed."
:dahell:
He still mad but won't change his situation. Don't take your foot off the gas. Keep pushin.
:comeon:

Even the sisters numbers are bad..

We as a people don’t live in reality

People are living in a glass bubble they've created for themselves where accountability for one's own situation is deflected..playing the blame game is very easy because as we can see the modern Black leader is afraid to offend, so instead he'll blame someone else for a bad situation like this..the likes of tariq will find a way to blame Black immigrants for these pitiful numbers.
