Nah, Vegeta messed up the worst. Dude was a straight sociopath who threw EVERYONE under the bus more than once just for his chance to show up Goku. Vegeta really peaked as a character with the Frieza saga, and after that he was a stone-cold liability who only made everything worse.
It's easy to hate on Krillin. Cats don't want to keep that same energy for the saiyans making terrible decisions since they look cool and are better at blowing things up.

All of the crazy evil stuff the Androids did only ever happened in the Future Trunks Timeline. If the regular androids were really as evil as their future counterparts, they would have murked all the Z fighters right there after breaking Vegeta's arm the first time.
The worst thing 18 did in the main timeline was beat up Vegeta and steal some clothes. Vegeta killed more innocent people than 16, 17, and 18 COMBINED.

...and? EVERYONE tried to kill Goku at some point, and Goku himself is cool with most of the characters who came way closer to killing him than the Androids did. Trying to kill Goku might as well be a prerequisite for joining the Z fighters in the first place.

Krillin should have kept the remote as a last resort, but I don't blame him for not wanting to kill a relatively innocent person for the sake of stopping Cell, borderline simping aside. He was faced with a legit moral dilemma.

Vegeta's decision was way worse since it based on nothing but pure arrogance and selfishness. Vegeta has a dope character arc if we're taking the whole series into account, but realistically, the dude is a sociopath and NONE of the other characters should have put up with him for as long as they did. Vegeta straight-up kills children on Namek, then goes on to betray everyone and murder innocent people in cold blood during both the Android and Buu sagas.

as soon as other Z fighters down there got to the scene, it was pretty much confirmed - they knew more about the situation than cell did almost every step of the way

18 and 16 weren't out of sight proper until Goku left. Like, at that point either they could've hitched a ride to Kami's lookout or to the other side of the planet if Goku teleports fast enough.

But you're right, though. Her not flying farther away while Tien stun locks Cell with the Shin-Kikoho for what looked like a solid 5-10 minutes was stupid in of itself and an example of the heroes being dumb in order to move the plot along (Which takes over the series from this saga forward)
