Well, I blame Scorcese for that awful scene. How do you film that and look at it then say, yeah that looks good.

maybe the scene we got in the irishman was the best take that deniro did

Deniro saying his lines like he didn't even bother learning em. He just improvising the whole time. He must've known this shyt was gonna bomb and didnt put any effort into this. Pretty weak movie tbh. This film was like a long ass trailer. Some of the most unrealistic court scene's I ever seen. They actually used a laugh track at one point. A little too on the nose at some points. Anticlimactic ending. Only like 2-3 people got killed in this movie.This coulda been a good movie with some better actors...a good director...and some effort.

Basically every mob heads dream movie with the greatest mob novie actor ever in 2 leads? This aint low level shyt like goodfellas and casino about.

Genovese/luciano family are the ivy leagues of crime especially at that time. Between the politics of frank costello, the streets with genovese, and lucky luciqno basically strategizing and creating the modern day dope game from sicily i dont see how any modern mob film head wouodnt wanna see this. The attention to detail is crazy.

Plus barry levinson is a fine director who made many classic films

You know what's funny, I did not know it was Robert De Niro playing two characters when I went and saw it

I was like 20 minutes into the movie and I'm trying to figure out who was playing Vito because he looked familiar

Looked up the cast on my phone and laughed

They did nothing to change his voice or appearance though...it looked and sounded like deniro talking to himself

Frank Costello was a regular Robert De Niro

Vito Genovese was him in makeup where he looked almost like Joe Pesci

Solid movie 6.7/10 for me.

Could’ve been a lot better but still overall legit movie. Not a classic by no means but a solid effort.

They need to make a movie about -scarfo and the Philly mob- Pesci would’ve been perfect for this 15 years ago. They could even make a high quality series about this since so much shyt happened from Bruno’s death, and has a lot of history before it that can be added.
- the murder machine - roy demeo
- a Casso/amuso lucchese movie- there would be a lot of murders in all 3 of these movies and a lot of important/crazy shyt happened.

There’s obviously other dope mafia stories that could be turned into movies, but these 3 off top of my head are some of the best mob ones.
