The Alchemist -Yacht Rock 2 (Discussion Thread)

It will truly be a crime to me if an instrumental version of this does not get released… I’m usually leading the charge when alchemist makes beats without heavy drums, but for this series I feel like the more subdued drums are very appropriate and the sample choices are immaculate.

I like that this is twice as long as the first one but I like that it doesn’t overstay its welcome either

This shyt is tough.
The standout joints for me are Ocean Prime ( Boldy was cruising on that shyt.), then Harry O, Sand Castles and Eastside.

Yeah Boldy stole the show. Excited for the M1CS sequel this year.

Agreed. His verses are very very hit or miss for me, but this one I thought landed. I’ll go ahead and use this to post what I think are his best verses… I believe Evidence said he was into creative writing when they grew up and you can tell in these verses I think because they sound pretty vivid. I just think he mostly needs to work on his delivery. I like it more when he raps like this

WTK definitely has the verse on this project that fits best with the theme. Like, when he told everyone the concept of what to write about...WTK did the best job with it out of everyone on here. Him and Boldy.

The Conway and WSG joint is dope but it straight up feels like a Hall & Nash 2 joint released on another project. It sticks out like a sore thumb. I think it would've sounded more at home as a craft single, or on Bread or Lunch Meat.
