Should be producer of the decade if we being honest.

He reaching top 5 all time status.

People gonna avoid this convo like crazy but....who has been more consistently dope or influential over the last decade when it comes to non-mainstream producers? Not to mention the way he finds a way onto mainstream albums from Kendrick to Cole to Drake.

I don't remember the last time there was a year where Alch didn't either completely produce an album or do beats on an album that wasn't generally considered a top ten album of the year, going back at least ten years. I can't name a producer who can match that output. Not only that...he's stayed on top or ahead of the shifting sound of rap shyt more than any old producer I can think of. When Roc Marci started the drumless loop wave with Reloaded, who was he in the studio with? Alch. And nobody has surpassed either of them when it comes to that shyt. A lot of that Griselda, Nicholas Craven, etc shyt people go crazy over sounds stale compared to Alch's shyt. And I certainly like some Griselda/Daringer and Nicholas Craven shyt but we gotta call a spade a spade.

I'd argue Alch is now in a space where Premo used to be: the guy who will show up on the big mainstream label record with a heater, and then show up on an underground record nobody listens to outside of the purists. Who else is in that space right now?

From the top of your head, name the last fire RZA beat, and let me know which decade it’s in.
From the top of your head, let me know one alchemist album that's on the level on 36 chambers, Cuban linx, liquid swords, ironman, or Wu Tang forever.

You got teenagers out here rocking Wu Tang shirts 30 years after he made those albums. Alc will never reach that level of impact. Ever. They're not even in the same stratosphere. There is no alchemist without rza. Period.

Meet the graham's elevated him for sure. He's a part of history and exceeded 2 decades.
Meet the grahams didn’t elevate him in my opinion. Its his hard work and consistent dedication to laying out dope beats and working with various MC’s and having a different sound for every collabo album.

The only reason he will probably never enter my top 5 is because he doesn’t have a chronic, doggystyle, 36 chambers, cuban link, moment of truth type albums.

He's a unsung hero producer type but the battle gave him more exposure to casuals.

I think Al is a purest, he's never going to have a hit album or anything related to those. He's def the best guest in hip hop next EM.
