honestly all the best parts of the movie are joaquin improvising and basically any time they went off the awful script
It was Todd Phillips doing a Scorsese impression with an underwhelming story beyond it. I'm probably showing bias, but I think I would have received it better if it
wasn't a Joker film. Not saying the movie had to be over the top, but there really wasn't any menace from Arthur...you can write Menace and still be Oscar-worthy. Just look at Silence of the Lambs, Cape Fear, A Clockwork Orange, or even The Shining.
