I know I shouldn't have but am I the only one who let out a nervous laugh when Lupida got hit with the bottle in 12 years a slave? For that alone she should get the award.

I laughed but the theatre started at me I think she should win because she needs it for the career. J-Law will get plenty of other chances.

The easiest way to determine the winners is just to look at the early rounds on some March Madness steez and as of now, she is the frontrunner. If she loses it will be more of a shock to me than if she wins. Like Jared Leto is the obvious frontrunner for best supporting actor and if he loses, THAT will be the shock of the night. It hurt Leo not winning a BAFTA IMO, so I still give the edge to Matt but I can't be mad if he wins. Son owned 2013

I don't think so. The Academy also likes to vote for important flicks and out of every flick nominated, 12 years, Her and Wolf of Wall Street seem to have the most to say about where we currently are as a country and where we've been but 12 years has the edge of being the most "important" in the sense of shining a light on a piece of history that a lot of Americans would rather forget. Plus there isn't a bad performance in it
