Bray is in the wrong era. He’s like one of the few people on the roster with an actual gimmick. He’s not just some clean cut dude with abs saying he’s better than someone. I don’t think WWE has the writers to properly build his character in 2020. I mean they did have him lose to a 90 year old Goldberg.
Bray Wyatt is great. He's a creative beast and yes, he'll be a legend when it's over....regardless of what these 'let's downplay anything current' bozos in this thread say.
But the best of Foley is still way better than the best of Wyatt. Promos, segments and certainly matches...Mick's best work is still better than Bray's best work.
OG Cactus Jack was the man. I’d compare that to the eater of worlds Bray. I’d love to see the Fiend vs OG hair pulling out Mankind. Dude love is trash like sweater Wyatt. Once Foley started wearing button ups and sock-o I lost interest in the character. I was more of a villain guy myself not happy go lucky.
Plus the E don’t know how to leave well enough alone with Bray. They always want to go 1 step further, then just go too far. That was evident with the mania match with Randy. Let Bray have creative control and we might see something. Plus let him show some athleticism in the ring instead of being a punching bag. Let him actually use a move set like they used to let Owens do.
Bray doesn't have the matches IMO. He's had some really good ones with but outside of that, I don't remember him ever really having a great match with anybody. Great character, and objectively a good worker but doesn't have the strongest portfolio - and I think his characters, especially his "fiend" character, doesn't really lend well to compelling matches anyway. Unless he's wrestling because 9/10 he'll drag a good match out of you.
