Stearns is not trading top flight talent this deadline so far.

I think he wants to keep the top prospects for his newly started tenure. Not that he is against dealing and improving this team but he isn't all in. He is gonna limit what's possible.

A good reliever, a mediocre starter and a barely MLBer reliever.
Stearns did something but didn't give away one even decent prospect.

This is a good strategy for a team where the pitchers didn't go more than 5
