Bring back clowney assp

Ok....so who would Carolina realistically take?

Mark Andrews...and we get Clowney plus a couple guys to make up the salary difference? Carolina wouldn't mind a veteran/reliable TE with a young QB. Lamar doesn't/shouldn't need Andrews like the early years before he became a better passer in 2023.

Don't think Carolina or anyone would take Marlon (He's not Deion Sanders and the 95 cowboys one CB away from getting back to the Superbowl). We will kick the can into void year with a few million for Marlon and hope he won't get hurt this year and then cut him if he comes up short/injured this season. Marlon still has too much guaranteed this season to cut him.

45milly...75milly....75milly? Yeah, Lamar is probably going to get more signing bonus money even this season...and for damn sure the following two and we borrow against the future. Cap goes up a few milly every year...but other guys will need to be paid more money as well.

Now, If Lamar comes up short again in the playoffs this season, misses playoffs, or certain types of injuries...hit the trade button as I'm sure he will waive no trade for a Florida team...and all 3 squads got some pieces we could get. Hell, Lamar might waive it for Chicago & Ben Johnson...and then we get Caleb for cheap that could make playoffs with us & we get some other guys from them too. But this thread and board in general don't like that type of talk...but it's sensible as a Team fan.

We going to be in trouble soon....not cowboys Dak Prescott trouble that will have to convert more money to signing bonus and then cut him in a couple years unless they can trade him to a team that thinks Dak will get them over the hump, lol.

Last season defense was terrible early on and that’s being nice. Good that they are trying to address it at least staff wise. Let’s see how the draft goes.

Lamar has to better in the playoffs for sure, but there is something to be said about the lack of turnovers for the defense in the playoffs too.

The ravens were 1-6 this year when Lamar had a passer rating under 115. They need better starting field position (29th in the league starting on average at their own 29 yard line) and that comes from better kick returns, fewer missed kicks, and more turnovers by the defense. They have essentially no margin for error for Lamar. That’s the issue. He’s gotta be flawless for them to win while playoff history is full of quarterbacks winning while making mistakes. You play the best defenses in January so you need your teammates to make big plays too. We saw this same shyt happen with Peyton Manning and Aaron Rodgers too where the defense, running game, and special teams rarely showed up.

We ran too little for that division game, Ravens lose when Henry's has less than what, 20 touches? I believe he had 16, it worked as we almost won, but next win with your advantage not barely clinging on to keep it interesting or to win with one hand tied around your back.

They ran the ball 30 times though. Would’ve been more if the score didn’t force them to throw the final 2 drives as well. Turnovers forced them to throw more that game.

Yeah, Better pass rush unit with playmakers to roll in is the easiest way to remedy the defensive situation. Take pressure off the secondary and give them more opportunities cause QB makes mistakes or we tip more balls in the air.

Tom Brady is 3-1 in playoff games with at least 3 INTS in them cuz he ALWAYS had a defense who AlSO got turnovers meaning he did not have to be perfect .
The pats won the 2011 afc title game with him throwing 0 scores with 2 picks and a passer rating of 67. His own assessment in the locker room after the game was “I played like shyt”. Won the 2001 afc title game with him missing the 2nd half and leading the offense to no points in the first half in part because they had a punt return touchdown and a blocked field goal return for a touchdown. Aaron Rodgers got a pick 6 in his Super Bowl win. Peyton got a bunch of takeaways and a defensive score in his Super Bowl wins. Favre got a kickoff return touchdown in his. Brees got an onside kick recovery and a pick 6 in his. Our guys had 2 takeaways, a turnover on downs at the end, and a kickoff return for 6 in Super Bowl 47.
