he very much enjoys the city and being the mentor to the young players. guys like Moncada, Eloy & Robert - hes huge for. he has been very adamant about staying and even went so far to say he would take a discount to stay here

also there isnt a huge market for limited defense 1b at his age anymore. he can still rake, and hes a great leader for us, so im happy to have him back

I think they will work out a 2-3 year deal this winter, and then he prob will get a role in the org once he retires

I think he will be serviceable as a DH for 2-3 more seasons (and this will be his last year at 1b), hes super consistent, and we have his replacement at first, (Andrew Vaughn) who is likely a 2021 call up
