Listen to Dan Quinn's conference call, Two things I took away from it.

1. Quinn isn't looking into signing Willie Mo

2. It looks like Dan Quinn is throwing everything at Vic Beasley to see if
he sinks or swims.......As of right now hes sinking.

So Beasley looks like a bust basically. Dimitroff should have got canned with Smitty and not doing that has cost us another couple years.

Too early to call him a bust, he hasn't even started his second season yet. But i will say that he looks like a role player at best...Miami handled him with ease

And for as much as hate as TD gets (and rightfully so), Beasley was a Quinn decision. Remember, Quinn has final say over the final 53 man roster and when he was hired last yr TD basically was picking whoever Quinn wanted. If we're gonna call it fairly on Beasley, then we gotta call it correctly on Quinn too

Interesting that's what you took away (Quinn didn't like Willie, an undisciplined big hitter who couldn't stay healthy), but im intrigued that you think DQ is trying to see if Beasley will sink or swim. DQ's legacy is in part attached to Beasley since that was the first pick of his regime, I know the move to SAM LB was to help Vic but I would think DQ would do everything in his power to see that Beasley succeeds

Fair enough, but role player at best for like the #7 or 8 pick in the draft sounds like bust to me. and you're right that this reflects on Quinn, and if we have another bad offensive season he's gonna have to fire Shanny

I can't figure Vic out. I thought in the Washington game there were positive signs but the Miami game seemed like a step back.

I agree that he's trending to be a bust. He's had shoulder problems his first two years and his spin move isn't fooling anybody

DQ is gonna have some very interesting moves to make if the offense looks the way it has this preseason especially if you feel the way some people do and think the best QB for this offense is currently on the bench...

He sounded frustrated with himself too

The Falcons moved Vic Beasleyto linebacker this offseason in hopes of putting him in position to better rush the passer in his second season after being drafted eighth overall in 2015.

Beasley missed a little time this summer with a shoulder sprain, but said it wasn’t the reason why he failed to register a sack or quarterback hit in a quiet outing against on Thursday night against a Dolphins offensive line that’s been a subject of concern in Miami.

“Nah, it ain’t working right now,” Beasley said, via ESPN.com. “I have to go to the film room, go to the practice film, and try to critique some thing. It is [frustrating] at times. I just know I have to keep working. … I know what’s expected of me, but it’s not a sense of pressure. It’s just what’s expected of me. I just have to keep attacking each day.”

Beasley isn’t the only reason Atlanta’s pass rush is falling short. Dwight Freeney didn’t play on Thursday because of a back strain and Adrian Clayborn, the only regular with a sack thus far in the preseason, had to leave with a shoulder injury. Everyone will need to be better, but being drafted so early means there’s going to be a particular spotlight on Beasley this season and that sense of pressure will likely come if he doesn’t produce.

Remember I told y'all he didn't sound like a lock to start at SAM over Philip Wheeler from the coaches (reported by D Led). I'm trying to remain optimistic but he's looking like a _____

FLOWERY BRANCH — The Falcons cut down to 75 players on Saturday.

The team released safety Sergio Brown (released), offensive lineman Michael Huey, running back Gus Johnson, wide receiver Jordan Leslie, tight end Arthur Lynch, linebacker Ivan McLennan, quarterback Sean Renfree, cornerback Ryan White, and defensive lineman Brandon Williams.

“We have a lot of respect for the guys here and how hard they’ve put everything into it over the last few months,” Falcons coach Dan Quinn said. “We appreciated their efforts like we told them today. I wish them the best in their future (opportunities).”

Y not sign willy mo? I hate our damn gm

DQ doesn't like his SS to be an undisciplined, big hitter who doesn't finish tackles & is injury prone. This was as much a DQ call as it was as a TD call and TD is happy to let that happen.

TD is trying to save his job...look at any of the player personnel comments TD has made the last yr, he has been quick to make sure DQ is mentioned as either being involved with the decision or praising DQ for how he came to that decision. TD didn't do that with Smitty. TD is goin to continue to make sure that any player personnel moves are attached to DQ to lessen the heat on him...just read any of TD's comments when it comes to player personnel moves, even yesterday on the cut down to 75 players

EDIT: Read this shyt from TD after we cut down the roster:

“We were really comfortable with the players that we brought in here,” general manager Thomas Dimitroff said. “I think it’s a really deep and competitive group. Like we’ve said time and again, Dan is the best that I’ve been around at bringing the most competitiveness out of these players. So, I think it’s been very impressive at many levels.

That seems like a bit much IMO...it's not like this is the final 53

@The ADD @Motife43 @Nostalgic yall notice TD doing that?
