Freeney is signing with the Falcons, NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports.

The 36-year-old Freeney proved he had some juice left last season, recording eight sacks in 11 regular-season games for the Cardinals, despite working in a part-time role on obvious passing downs. While the Falcons shouldn't expect similar production, Freeney should at least provide a small boost to a pass rush that had an NFL-low 19 sacks last season.

DQ probably like :francis: watchin our DEs every day in practice

I think it might be whoadie. Read this:

FLOWERY BRANCH – Here are five things to know about the Falcons, who return to practice at 10 a.m. on Tuesday.

1. Jones update. On Sunday, Falcons coach Dan Quinn said he expected All-Pro wide receiver Julio Jones to fully participate in practice on Tuesday. He had an unspecified injury and referred to some “tightness” in his explosive body. Quinn called the injury a “tweak.”

2. NFL Network in the house. Rhett Lewis and Charley Casserly will be live on-location for coverage of Falcons training camp on NFL Network.

3. Update from Quinn. Falcons coach Dan Quinn will address the media after the practice. Check back later for updates and video.

4. Beasley off to slow start. Linebacker Vic Beasley, who is making the switch to strongside linebacker from defensive end in the base defense, believes he’s off to a slow start.

5. Friday Night Lights set. The Falcons will hold their “Friday Night Lights” practice at Grayson High School in Loganville on Friday. Gates open at 6 p.m. and the team will start practice at 7:30 p.m. The practice will be hosted by Wes Durham and Dave Archer and will feature a performance by the Atlanta Falcons Cheerleaders, interactive games, as well as player autographs. The night will conclude with a fireworks show.

If true and Vic is playing without confidence then we're even more behind the 8 ball then I thought

Nothing has changed this far into camp. I would imagine he knew he wasn't going back to AZ and took the next best offer.

I think a week in DQ and the staff has had a chance to get a decent evaluation on what we have...I don't think you bring in a guy who's gonna take a roster spot and snaps away from the other guys on the line if you feel confident in who you've got already. But we'll see, I just think it says something about the current talent level that we needed to get a 37 yr old situational pass rusher who nobody else really wanted

That reads like he is still getting adjusted to non pass rush situations at slb. It probably will take him time to get used to playing in space. In the videos I've seen so far, Beasley's edge rushing looks improved.

I does say something but they knew that going in. This just didn't hit them today.

Everybody wanted freeney. It just so happens he has the luxury of joining teams after training camp because he is coveted. He chose us over Cincinnati and supposedly Dallas. He led the Cardinals in sacks last season, hence why they traded for chandler jones.

Now Beasley has another pass rusher on the other side to cut down on help. Hester was cut to make space for him.
