Taj is on a good deal and he plays winning basketball. Solid defense, nice midrange, and he also unselfish. He is definitely a good fit next to cousins. If a veteran is what they want with the 8th pick, I say go for it:yeshrug:
Hes also locked up for 3 more seasons at a VERY reasonable price

Surely Ainge can get more for Rondo than that right?

Kings would be foolish not to pull the trigger on that if The Cs offer him

He can get more and Kings would offer more, but they've been pretty persistent in trying to get Rondo...

Think they'd be willing to do Isiah Thomas sign and trade, Ben McLemore, and make the 8th pick for the Celtics along with at least one more first rounder and taking on Gerald Wallace's contract

Like I said, the Celtics could go in 50 different directions this offseason, if Danny can't land a Kevin Love type player, he might consider moving Rondo and going into even more of a rebuild. Not sure Rondo would want to stick around for another year of that, and he may demand more in free agency than the Celtics would want to pay...

Absolutely not, and Sacramento has already offered that along with an additional first rounder back in February

Cleveland fukking sucks, and so do you.

We're not talking about Cleveland.

We're talking about trading a resigned Isaiah, an emerging mclemore, and the number 8 pick for rondo who will be a free agent and may not resign to play with Rondo and Gay stays.

I think that's a bit much...I'd like it for boston but the kings are paying a lot.

I can tell you for a fact that Sacramento was willing to give up Thomas, McLemore, and 2 1st rounders for Rondo

My concern back then was how much will Thomas demand for his new contract? I'm not throwing 10 million a year at him

I remember this. It that number 8 pick is a guy like Randle. So IT, Mclemore, Randle for Rondo who may still bolt not quite sure that makes them better long term.

I'd imagine Sacramento would be smart enough to get assurances he'd resign, but who knows... They're desperate to make a splash.

Not sure I care for getting Thomas tho, especially if his contract is more than like 6 million a year... I'd rather take one of Smart/Exum at 6 and then take whichever of Randle/Gordon/Vonleh drop to 8.

Celtics are so hard to project right now. :snoop:

Exactly...and IT will or should get more than 6-7 a year based off his numbers...Now if Boston drafts Smart/Ennis then I can see this deal.
