I think the salient point is that there are plenty of players who have had seasons like Freeman had and turned out to be less than great players. There are very few players who have ever had a season like Trout's rookie year.

But Freeman is a monster, fwiw.
well played.

Jose Abreu setting new rookie records for both HR & RBI's in the month of April :banderas:

A star is being born in Chicago baseball again :blessed:

Turned on the Cardinals/Brewers game

Heard Tim McCarver's voice

I'm now watching the Milwaukee broadcast.
We have Matt Lepay filling in while Brian Anderson does Playoff games. He's done a pretty decent job filling in.

This guy K-Rod. We pull him off the scrap heap last year in April. He pitched good as a Set-Up man, so good the Orioles trade for him. He shyts the bed in Baltimore, we bring him back, and he's 12-12 so far in Save Opportunities. Unreal.

For a game that's played on the 28th of April, that was nevertheless a big win for us.

I owe a thank you to Ron Roenicke for surprising everyone and installing him as closer as opening day. And for doing it while I was sitting at my computer ready to snag K-Rod off the waiver wire

:blessed:

Certainly dulled the pain of losing Chapman to a caved-in face
