Man, wait until the draft has another player anywhere close to Strasburg/Harper....the shyt will collapse in on itself :smh:

The CBA hurt the draft...but what it did to international scouting is far worse

????

What have they done? All I've heard is that they plan on doing an international draft type thing.

It's really retarded how they have the draft set now. Got a bunch of teams signing people who shouldn't be drafted as high as they were and will get well below slot to try to save that money to use after the 10th round or whatever it is.

They capped international spending like they did with the draft. And the amounts is less than the big names usually get ON THEIR OWN.

Teams like Rangers who have invested heavily in scouting in Latin America are going to see their advantage shrink, as all players eligible to sign now have to "register"...making it impossible for a team to keep a great player a secret. This concept might be good for the players....if there wasn't a ludicrously low cap....

The entire CBA was misguided, shortsighted and will probably ultimately harm the sport.

What was baseballs reasoning for this shyt?

At least the draft wasa way for low payroll teams like the Rays to stay competitive with the big market clubs and build through the draft that now will be gone

The only thing it did for them was it basically forced teams in the first round to draft guys where their supposed to go so no more players who were supposed to go top 5 going to the red sox or Yakees in the late 20's

Players actually went where they were supposed to go from a talent perspective in the firts round
