NEW YORK -- A New York Mets fan who ran onto Citi Field following Johan Santana's no-hitter has pleaded guilty to interfering with a professional sporting event.

Prosecutors said Thursday a judge ordered 32-year-old Rafael Diaz of Massapequa to pay $4,000 in civil penalties to the Mets and $1,000 to the city. He also must perform 100 hours of community service and cannot visit Citi Field for a year, although the Mets have already banned him for life.

If he doesn't complete the conditions by Dec. 14, he can be sentenced to up to a year in jail.

Santana threw the Mets' first no-hitter June 1. Following the game, prosecutors say Diaz ran onto the pitcher's mound where he mingled with several celebrating players before being apprehended.

Even Mets fans can't catch a break. :mindblown:

Lance Lynn looked good. 6.0 IP, 5 H, 1 ER, 1 R, 2 BB, 7 K.

Yadi is 3/4 with an rbi AND threw out both Kemp and Dee Gordon trying to steal. :wow:

Just gotta hold on to this small lead.

The throw to get Gordon was literally as great as a catcher can be. Unreal.

People overate defensive plays that are just unusual but not great. Like Manny Machado, theres nothing great about that play its just heads up.

Reminds me of when Wright caught the ball bare handed and everyone went nuts, its a simple play just unusual.

Unusual does not = great

Cycle is another one, unusual but hardly great.

Agreed, perfect games aren't that great either, it's happened before and it'll happen again, nothing impressive about that. Endy Chavez's catch in the 06 NLCS....overrated. Sure he jumped high to catch it but people jump everyday
