Cueto leads in era by what now, .05? gtfo. Situation is horseshyt when it comes to this award, ballpark is a factor, but it's not big enough to make up 51 strikeouts. I know that's not the see all end all, but do you realize the staggering difference in 50 ks? Cueto has 3 less walks... 3. You wanna start cherry picking stats? dikkey has more innings(in one less start), a lower whip, 21 less hits, 5 cg, 3 cgso... I can go all day.
I feel like the argument is "he's a knuckleballer, it's less stressful on the arm" which may be true, but it's an absolutely bullshyt arguement. If anything dikkey should be rewarded for putting these numbers up as a knuckler.
As of today, 9/5 at 12:30 eastern time, RA dikkey is a better choice for Cy Young than Johnny Cueto. He could get rocked today... and you know what? I expect it. I expect it because anytime I stick up for a Met they shyt in my face.
