Injured players have been traded before, that doesn't matter since teams can waive physicals. Right around the deadline it came out that the Pacers were open to moving him.
One would think they'll be able to trade him this summer. $14MM off the cap after next season is enticing.

Who should they aim to get? I assume they'll want to re-up David West this summer...

I would have moved him for just about anything to be honest, as the homie @Gil Scott-Heroin can attest to I don't really like Granger much :playahata:

My off the wall trade would have been to offer him up to the Jazz for Jefferson, get a younger/better PF in the process. It'd allow you to let West walk this summer, and you'd still be able to possibly sign a decent player in FA.

Just caught the end of PTI and I forgot that Jeff Green hit that buzz beater last night. He's playing at a high level and seems to be having fun. There isn't a player in the league that I am happier for.

“We’re planning on having him back,” Walsh said. “We’re planning for him to come to training camp. That’s why we’re doing it at this point. Everything we’re doing is to get him back here by training camp next year.

“It’s not like we anticipate that he’s not going to be able to play. This whole year has been spent trying to make sure he’ll be able to play, so we’ve been very cautious in the way we’ve dealt with it.”

"The decision was made after all conservative treatment options could not alleviate the soreness Granger encountered,” the statement said. “After consultation between Granger, the Pacers’ medical staff and Dr. James Andrews, surgery became the preferred option.”

“Basically it came down to Danny telling us he didn’t think he was going to be able to play comfortably and without an operation,” Walsh said, “so that’s why we’re going this direction.”

Nah, teams would've taken one look at those medical reports and gone :usure:

And besides Walsh was never gonna sell Granger for a deal that would've had teams grabbing and running. Best option now would be to build him back up in the off-season and revisit the Milsap/Burks trade, now that Stephenson has increased his value. Or if nothing of reasonable worth comes up, stick with him.
