whatever happened to zbo? We all saw how he was in the 2011 playoffs, not just with his play but also with how memphis recognized it and cleared everyone out the way and force fed him the ball in the post for their entire playoff run... basically playing that old school inside-out bball instead of all this extra crowded/jumbled up pick and roll stuff that just wastes the shot clock.

ever since dude came back from his injury last year, its like he lost his mojo and just seems a lot more sloppy with the ball. i figured last year he was simply still not %100 and + taking a back seat to rudy.

Mind yall, i was never a fan of rudy gay and always saw him in that danny granger category of players who thought they were better than they actually were and f'ed up team chemistry b/c of it; i.e. chucking up bad/contested jumpers tryna play hero ball thinkin they on some kobe/durant/lebron type shyt..

so i thought rudy coming back and zack getting injured last year was esp bad b/c it only further encouraged them to go away from a proven system and position rudy as the go-to-guy. but now that rudy is gone, the offense still looks a mess and its clear zbo just aint what it is anymore.

even then, gasol should be the one being force fed early in the shot clock, with the same mentality they had with z-bo pre-injury... but i just don't like the way they incorporate either big. shyt takes too long to get into their sets.

he struggles against athletic bigs with length. he's the clean-up guy at this point.

plus hollins refusing to space the floor with shooters plays a part in this as well.

Rudy's unfairly shytted on. He certainly would be a better player if he bought into an offensive system and had a coach that knew how to utilize him properly. Unfortunately for him those situations are few and far between.

He went from shooting 16 times a game in Memphis to shooting 18-20 times in Toronto. :mindblown:

Gasol's a big guy and at altitude it takes a lot out of him. However, he did disappear in the second half. Too bad the Grizzlies didn't have Arthur to add some extra depth for the big men.
