Two of the more disappointing teams in the NBA this season are the Philadelphia 76ers and LA Lakers, and despite moves during the off-season to upgrade their rosters, injuries and chemistry issues have hurt both teams, and changes could be coming with the trade deadline approaching.

The latest rumor has Pau Gasol of the LA Lakers headed to the 76ers in a three-team trade package. Gasol and Darius Morris would head to Philly; Spencer Hawes, Jason Richardson, and Kwame Brown would move to Phoenix; and the LA Lakers would acquire Marcin Gortat and Michael Beasley.

All these players need a change of scenery for various different reasons, and the deal would make each roster a bit stronger. The best news, however, is each team would rid themselves of a player that has expressed interest in playing elsewhere, and that could help each team on and off the court.

New 2013 NBA trade rumors could reveal a Brandon Jennings trade by the Milwaukee Bucks in the near future. A new report from CBS Sports on Sunday (Jan. 13) points out that Milwaukee is looking to make a trade and that they have a number of players that could be dealt before the NBA trade deadline.

Jennings becomes a restricted free agent at the end of the regular season, but it might come down to how much Milwaukee wants to spend on re-signing him. The team failed to give him a contract extension earlier this season, raising the stakes when it comes to future negotiations. It's also possible that Jennings wants a max-contract that Milwaukee might not be able to afford.

In addition to Jennings, CBS notes that Samuel Dalembert, John Henson, Ekpe Udoh, Larry Sanders, Luc Richard Mbah a Moute, Drew Gooden, and Beno Udrih could all be available on the trade market. It's even possible that Monta Ellis could be had for the right price, especially since he has an early-termination option within his own contract.

Portland Trail Blazers trade rumors about a J.J. Hickson trade are going to pop up because of his pending free agency at the end of the regular season. On Saturday evening (Jan. 12), The Oregonian posted a report about the situation, pointing out that the front office in Portland won't want to lose Hickson for nothing in return.

Hickson is having his best season in the NBA and is posting averages of 12.2 points and 11 rebounds per game. He is one of the most exciting players on the court for the Blazers this season and he has become very dangerous in the low post for the team. That is what they risk losing at the end of the season.

The problem with Hickson is that it might be hard for the Blazers to find a trading partner willing to give equal value for him. He has already played on three NBA teams in his short career, with the Sacramento Kings being the one most recently giving up on him (last season). What he has shown this season, though, is that he is ready to be a force for any team.

The key decision will be whether the Blazers are playing for the postseason or merely to finish the regular season strong. If they are in true contention for something like the sixth seed in early February, it might be best for the team to simply hold on to Hickson. They cannot really afford to offer him a big contract extension, but if the team can stay competitive in the postseason with him, then why not ride it out.

New 2013 NBA trade rumors have a J.J. Redikk trade interesting several NBA franchises. According to a new report, Orlando Magic general manager Rob Hennigan has already told Redikk that teams are expressing interest in trading for him.

Redikk's name is coming up because he is a free agent at the end of the current season. He has stated before that he wants to remain with the Magic, but that's not always how things turn out when a player becomes available to every team.

he other question here is, whether Orlando wants to keep Redikk past this season. If they don't, then finding a good trading partner might be in the best interest of the franchise.

Redikk has played 34 games as the shooting guard in Orlando this season, and he is seeing more action than at any point in his career. His averages are at 14.5 points, 4.6 assists, and 2.3 rebounds per game.

One of the biggest assets with Redikk is that he shoots well from three-point range (39.5% for his career), and he is one of the best free throw shooters in the NBA (90.6% this season). Those are numbers that could prove very valuable to a team needing a scoring threat.

San Antonio Spurs trade rumors have a DeJuan Blair trade still being sought by the team. A report from Thursday (Jan. 10) confirms that the Spurs are still shopping Blair around the league.

The biggest reason that Blair has become expendable is how well Tiago Splitter has been playing. He continues to get better for the Spurs, giving the team no real reason to go back to Blair at this point. At the same time, he is still too good to just give away.

One rumor had a Miami Heat trade ready before it ended up falling through. It's clear that the Heat could use a player like Blair, especially because he is great under the basket. He could be helpful to any team that needs rebounding and size though.

Blair hasn't seen a lot of playing time this season and he is now averaging just 14.4 minutes per game. That is way down from a guy who started all but four games for the Spurs last season. He started 65 the year before as well, but has simply lost minutes to other players in the rotation now.

The benefit for another team is that Blair is an unrestricted free agent at the end of the current season, so they wouldn't be on the hook for a long-term salary. That might also be bad news, though, because it means team control would be almost non-existent.
