Another good one is the Cavs getting rid of JJ Hickson, and then drafting Mr. Future Backup Tristan Thompson

Hickson would have averaged 20 a game with Kyrie, and that could have let them draft Drummond this year.

Who did they trade Hickson for? The Cavs are such an incompetent organization.

Hickson
Varejao
Harrison Barnes
Gibson
Kyrie

The Kings are a mess and Evans' style of play doesn't help things, and, again, his stock is so low, I'm not sure what the value will be. One team to watch is the Celtics -- Danny Ainge loved him before the draft. I'm not sure Boston has the assets to get a deal done, but I could see the Celtics trying to make something happen.
:russ: at a Rondo and Tyreke backcourt.

In theory, sure. In practice, I'm not so sure. I've yet to hear the scenario that makes this deal palatable for the Lakers. The Timberwolves want (Pau Gasol), but I'm not sure Derrick Williams is the answer to L.A.'s problems. Adding Nikola Pekovic would make it much more interesting, but it's just unclear how he and Dwight Howard would coexist on the same team. The Hawks aren't giving up Josh Smith for him. Could a Bucks deal of Ersan Ilyasova (who can't be traded until Jan. 15) and Beno Udrih get it done?

Varejao is playing like an All-Star this season and he has stayed healthy. A number of teams in contention, led once again by the Timberwolves, are in the hunt for him. The Cavs want multiple young assets or draft picks back in return. Again, I don't see a perfect fit. The Bucks are a possibility, as they have a number of interesting young bigs. I wouldn't be shocked to see the Raptors go after him as well. They have a number of interesting young players (Jonas Valanciunas and Terrence Ross anyone?) and the rumblings out of Toronto sound as though it needs to start winning now.

League sources indicate that veteran shooting guard Richard Hamilton has been offered in trade scenarios, efforts that could intensity as the Feb. 21 trade deadline nears.

:heh: @ them not dealing Hickson for Amare, but then turn around and ship him to SACTown for Casspi.

Casspi doesn't get any PT in Cleveland either.

I remember the debates between Bulls fans and Cavs fans on who was better between him and Tyrus Thomas also...

We were so wrong :snoop:

I was surprised that other teams didn't go after Hickson during the offseason. He has always had the talent. :russ: I remember Cav's fans were talking about how Hickson was gonna be the next Karl Malone. :leon: I thought Caspi had some potential when he first came out. Even though Hickson is undersized, he has actually improved defensively. He will always struggle because of his size and he doesn't have great length, but his rebounding ability is :whew: I wanted the Lakers to sign him in the offseason too.

They traded him to the Kings for....................Omri Casspi :pachaha:

Got a 1st round pick from the Kings too. :snoop:

I don't remember what the protections on the pick tho.

It is definitely time for a complete overhaul for the Kings tho. Petrie needs to go too. Nothing will happen until the Maloofs are gone and who knows if or when that will happen. This franchise is fukked for the forseeable future.

Boston likes (Tyreke Evans). Not sure they have the assets to acquire him. Once upon a time they were willing to give up Rondo to draft him, but those days are over. I'm not sure he's a future all-star. Never learned how to shoot, play defense or play with others. Physical talents are all there, but physical talents alone don't get you into All-Star games.

Bucks have told guard Brandon Jennings, a restricted free agent next summer, they plan on matching an offer sheet he could sign.

Pistons are actively shopping forward Austin Daye, a source said. Daye averaged just 2.3 points in six games.

To be honest, I'd love to see Tyreke Evans play for Doc Evans. It would be the 1st time he's had a competent coach. There's just nothing on Boston's roster that is remotely worth trading for. He and Cousins both need a change of scenery. I'll hate to see em leave but it will be better for their careers and development as players.
