It came from something Derrick said in regards to Adelman not playing him a lot early on last year. He tweeted "Does anyone knows how it feels to be a caged lion?" After that he started getting a little more PT and actually played better.
The only thing really messed up about Derrick is his jumper. He's actually played much better defensively and goes after boards more. That's why I think he'll be fine somewhere else. I don't think he's someone that will just a bum wherever he goes. Look at his stats even now. He doesn't even have much of a spot in the rotation and he's averaging almost 10 and 6. He just happens to play for a coach that really doesn't have the time or patience to watch him play through his mistakes.
