It's funny you say that...Brian Finneran on 680 the Fan said that the Falcons were planning on adding a "sweetener" to Julio's deal in the form of more guaranteed money from his existing contract as recently as 3 weeks ago. I think Julio and his team saying I'm not coming showed how serious he was about getting it done but the Falcons held firm too...it was a "cap neutral" move so they didn't use any of their current cap space to do this adjustment. Either way I'm just glad it's over and that Julio's back

No dumb dumb I can speak for myself. Unlike you I don't have a vendetta against one player or blame said player for all of the faults of the team. I call it like I see it so when Matt deserves blame he should and does get blame. But since you live in some twilight world where Matt never gets criticized or Matt has this army of apologists, you get on these misguided rants where it's you vs. "mythical Matt Ryan fans".
Matt was just OK last year, he was great in 2016 and average at best in 2015. He needs to be better for the Falcons to be a Super Bowl contender, but since you're more Matt Ryan hater than Falcon fan, you'll never be able to receive that message

You do realize it's only a few franchise QBs to begin with and it's probably 5 elite QBs. Matt is certainly in the 5-10 range of QBs. Plenty of good QBs would have won w/ that Eagles Defense stupid.

With star wide receiver Julio Jones on hand, the Falcons completed their first 2018 training-camp practice in front of a flock of fans Friday.
Here are the five things we learned:
1. Jones sharp. Jones was one of the first players out on the field for practice. He agreed to a restructured contract Thursday. He looked sharp in his drills.
2. Matthews extension. Left tackle Jake Matthews agreed to a five-year contract extension with the team.
Falcons left tackle Jake Mattews,the sixth overall pick in the 2014 draft, agreed to a five-year, $75 million contract extension.

3. Blank on hand. Owner Arthur Blank was on hand for the practice and discussed the contract extension for Jones, the national anthem and Atlanta hosting the Super Bowl. (Check back later for full story.)
4. Returners. The Falcons need to find a new punt and kickoff returner. Wide receivers Justin Hardy and Marvin Hall were catching punts on the first day of practice.
5. Injury report. Left guard Andy Levitre (torn pectoral muscle) and defensive end Takkarist McKinley (shoulder) took part in the first practice. Both were recovering over the entire offseason.
