A lot of really good software engineers don't want to go into gaming because of the lower pay compared to other fields.

They either want to put out an insane project that basically is their reputation and life's work so they can stack paper or they want to sell their company and basically cash out.

It’s all delusion and they don’t take in their track record. Making triple A games is expensive and as the years go by we are seeing how limited we get first party triple a in a generation. They not going to take the risks on making those classic ips with activision. Unless they turn them into some mid bullshyt on game pass.
Like Microsoft has the money to make some crazy ass budget games that can take shyt to the next level but they to caught up with services and hardware bullshyt to do that.

In the emails they mention how one of the downsides of bethesda purchase is that they focus too much on “core” gamers. Which means the single player stuff is almost worthless to them outside of the big stuff.
