2Pac is the iconic thug of hip hop. There have been plenty of real gangstas in hip hop, but none have had the appeal of 2Pac and his fake thug bravado. Everybody still raps about this nikka like he's alive, so yeah he is the most influential ever, but thats due to marketing after his death.

Ice-T was a gangster turned rapper, not a rapper turned gangster like 2Pac.
