Imagine a rapper like Mase appealing to young teens now:mjlol:

he does actually.

don't fall for the hype about all these young buls being gay and soft.

the industry is just pushing an agenda. a lot of these kids fall for it, but things aren't as different as theyre made out to be.

I don't know about all that.

I was just saying that if a mase-like rapper came out today, he'd pop off.

Yep I still got tapes of BET Rap City "Old School Wednesday" where in 1996 they were playing stuff from 2 or 3 years earlier

Think about it: The 1988 Golden Era was only 8 years prior but it felt like 20 years. 2009 doesn't feel that far away to us now, especially sonically.

lol yea. being in middle school, and half the time, they would show elementary school videos on old school Wednesday.
and it felt like a completely different world, even tho I was still in the same school.(went from kindergarten to 8th grade).
not to mention the disconnect that most of my friends that were my age had from it. the ones that weren't into rap when people like diamond d were poppin.

my favorites were when they hit the '80s joints
I remember wanting to skip out on my 8th grade graduation because rap city was playing run dmc, kurtis blow, etc.:laugh:

Damn I forgot about this

shyt was spooky as fukk bro the whole mood changed. Everyone hated the shiny suit jiggy shyt but when Big and Pac died everyone was sad. Nobody wanted to die
I remember bringing up Pac to this white guy one time, he was in high school in '96. He said when they got word Pac passed during school him and some of his homies ditched school & spent the whole day smoking and listening to his music, they just couldnt believe it
:mjcry::wow:
