If ella mai from london can blow up in the US and teyana cant she needs to retire:yeshrug:
She has the talent if it was the 90s she would have done well although I think it's something she missing just like Tinashe not sure what it is though.

if you got time, go check out her album VII, it was pretty good

most of it is just the industry today, r&b aint really popping, female artists are struggling for relevancy, even in pop. she would've at least had ashanti/amerie level career if r&b was still popular/healthy like it was through the early 00's.

that's one reason SZA not having her live shyt together is disappointing, not too many r&b artists are breaking through right now, so for her to not be prepared is to drop the ball

I agree I also think its something about Teyana that isn't likable and I do not know what it is but when she does interviews like the breakfast club she does not draw me in as a fan.

she's not likable IMO. plus add the fact that she was basically a blog/social media celebrity for years for no reason other than being on "my sweet 16th" and being friends with chris brown, she's lucky ye scooped her. that said, she's a decent singer with a dope body (and a butterface) who put out a good product, but i think all those years of being an online persona that not too many people liked also contributes to her being overlooked.
